The Quest for KK

It will be my holy grail…. my most elusive conquest up to date…. the CHOSEN ONE per se (okay.. am chaneling Harry Potter 6 here because I AM FRIGGING WATCHING IT THIS MORNING GUYS!!)….

Before explaining, I want to give a shoutout to my…. NEW HOSTEES!! I couldn’t believe that I had 3 applications over the past week and I’m so glad that you chose my site as your host! :D Give them a cheery welcome guys!! :D Levie (she’s my blockmate by the way! YEY!), Samantha (check out her cuute horse!) and Taryn! :D

Okay… where was I? Oh yeah. KK! As you all know, I was sick the past week (yes dears, the WHOLE WEEK and I didn’t like it one bit because I had to skip classes. It looks like fun but catching up might be HARD! grar) and down with the flu (no not swine flu thank the Lord). The first few days were kinda unbearable because of the headache body pain and chest pain. Every time before I slept always seemed like a horse race because of the fast beating heart. Stupid coughs! I had fever for almost 5 days and now only the cough persists. My lungs feel like they’re really going to collapse now but I think it’s lessening a bit. I hope I completely recover tomorrow. :D :D That’s why I didn’t write at all even if I was just a HERMIT AND COOPED UP ALL INSIDE MY HOME *gack I look like some pale ghost now* ALL THIS TIME because I think I would have just blinked in my entries.

*Blink* O_O *Blink* -_-

So why KK? Well what kept me alive this past week was when I told myself, I was going to get a KK after all that’s happened. I would go to a KK store, snap myself an entry for this event and EAT AT MERRILY AND I DON’T CARE IF THEY THINK I’M A GLUTTON. I deserve happiness after this ordeal. Don’t cha think? Haha lolz you all must think I’m insane or something :D

I was going to blog about lots before getting sick like my first time at a Japanese art film festival, watching guy friends of your dads who are at their late 40s sing “Like A Virgin” in a Singing Bee contest, being QUADRIPOLAR but I don’t know… do I still have the gusto to write about it? HELL YEAH (except for being QUADRIPOLAR – someday) *coz the sun is shining, just in time for a comeback!*

My friend Daynel invited me and Chair to watch at the Japanese Art Film Festival at Shang (it was FREE ENTRANCE!) last Saturday and I decided why not since it was a chansu to practice my Jap skills and make Sir Ian proud! Too bad we missed the showing of the Japanese-set-in-Finland-and-they-cook-a-lot movie! Daynel’s an aspiring cook (she’s great already!) and I’m a hungry person so we were definitely disappointed. We only caught a showing of Jun Ichikawa’s Tony Takitani (adapted from Haruki Murakami’s) and it was…. indeed an artsy film. The film was different in the sense that there were a lot of narration and it was very very emotional. The musical score emphasized the sadness and this sort of “obsession and mediocre-but-not” feeling throughout the film and the piano notes just want to make your heart trickle with sadness or make you sleep (like what some did). The story revolves around Tony who’s a great artist especially at designing cars but people say that his art contains no feeling at all. He leads a very LOONNEELLY life until he meets and marries this SHOPPING-OBSESSED pretty woman (i swear, more obsessed than the Shop-a-holic girl) but of course, this isnt a happy movie and in the end, Tony will find that he will forever be alone anyway. It’s really “depressing” but I found myself liking the camera direction. It’s really neat but there are a LOT of slow moments so if you like action, DON’T WATCH THIS. I did laugh out some moments because I don’t know. I find laughter in seriousness and ambiguity. I’m a weird girl, I already told you that.

And Clairessa just shared some beautiful and ethereal music that I can’t wait to share to you guys! A GREAT find for me since I love artists and musicians who can wrote and compose good poetry and I haven’t listened to this kind of music ever since finding Bjork. Thanks dear!! Tony Takitani gives off a feeling like this. Watch Bat for Lashes’s single, Daniel. Really powerful stuff! Check out their other songs since they really have beautiful lyrics. Odd thing is that their songs keep on playing in my head and it’s not the Last Syndrome Type of music. I don’t know… they just play in my head O_O

Now am advertising one of Filipino’s Cinemalaya 2009 film entries (Filipino indie art film festival :D) called “Panggagahasa kay Fe” (The Rapture of Fe in English) and it’s directed by my amazing Fil prof! Watch it guys :D

About 40 year olds singing Like a Virgin? I really can’t explain the horror that I felt when I saw them sing it. and most of them were GUYS SINGING IT. It was kinda frightening but funny again. lolz. Horribly fascinating that late 40s parents could act so foolishly and childishly. I actually think I’ll still be foolish and childish when I’m a parent too and when I’m 40 too. How about you guys? Would you still “ROCK” when you’re 49?

Okay here’s something to cheer you up again guys! Have your parents joined – or worse – added you on Facebook? No need to be shy because I have relatives in my friends’ list as well! It is quite known that Facebook has a lot of oldies aboard especially since they actually do want to connect with each other. This is what my uncle and aunt does. But some parents *i think mostly American though* behave MOST UNUSUAL and of course some kids do want their privacy.     I wouldn’t want my parent’s to join the facebook. My boyfriend dad joined and added me, and he doesn’t have much frinds so everything I do he sees. So now I am writing my status’ in Russian because he doesn’t know russian.

  4. Gosh! That my parents joined facebook is funny! but i do feel bad sometimes. i mean, i never treat my parents that way. my dad is on facebook and i think it’s fine. And what if youre the parent and then blogs become like facebook pages? Then your kids would say “Oh crap. My mom had a blog and a twitter account.” Wouldnt that offend you? I feel sorry for parents, but I still enjoy these stuff. HAHAHAHA. LOL. XD Where do you even get these things? :D :D Anyway Im just glad that my Dad is kind of professional enough to know his limitations when using facebook. lol.

    Very unique indeed. i love songs with meaning…. not just your typical, $$$, sex and girls songs that are mainstream nowadays. boooo!

    Yes, i even have a “We’re Related” app… where it shows who all your relatives are on facebook. haha! It’s a great way to keep in touch esp. with my relatives who still live in the philppines!

    I’ve only ever seen ONE harry potter movie.. when i was like 16 because my boyfriends little sisters wanted to see it. havnt read or watched anything else since then.

    My mom has a facebook but she don’t use it. My uncle always try to get my mom to use it but she never does. Just like me, she’s not that into em. My sister is always like, Join this, join that. I used to be into the whole profile sites thing when I was 16 but now, I don’t really care for it.

  11. HAHAHAH! “I forgot to mention it to you” :DDD I’m Facebook-friends with both my parents and I don’t really mind. I see why other people would, but I don’t need to hide a lot of things from my parents.

    1. Never tasted KK, we don’t have it here in finland! But I do love doughnuts.
    2. I love indie films. There’s this finnish company called Rakkautta Ja Anarkiaa, Love and Anarchy, that imports foreign indie films to be sold on DVD’s here in finland, and I see lots of their movies.
    3. I don’t have time to watch it now, I gotta leave for the gym, but you mentioned it’s like Björk so I gotta watch it later! Love Björk.

    Just saying thankies for the shameless plug and that I’m hoping you feel better! I have no trace of illness -crosses fingers- and I’ve started to ward any illness of with a concoction of herbs and staying away from ill people. We ran out vic C tablets!

    I like the books insofar as they are good commercially but as in a piece of literature they are pretty pants. And, the films are even worse. Not a huge fan tbh, not anymore anyway!

    I absolutely loved the film and thought it was done well. I don’t understand your mum because the ending fitted. He died and she was old so it was obvious that she was gonna die too and therefore it fitted! Maybe your mum is just silly, no offence! :P

    Woop! Thanks, I love going away. The Austrian house is rather nice too. It is owned by some multi-millionaire so you can only imagine what it is like: indoor heated pool, outdoor heated pool, cinema, toy basement and massive garden. :D It is great even though we are out most of the time – still, lazy days are really nice in this house. There are some photos attached to my Twitter… I might take some more just for you… just make sure you look at my feeds! :D
    I’m not that tall… about 5 foot 10 inches… is that tall?

    My blog has been accepted by Smorty. :) Is that a good one? And I am considering vLogs whilst I am away/ when I get back. Just don’t fancy the whole time that I know I will spend editing the videos as I am a total perfectionist. I think I’d have to designate an entire day to it all. lol
