Let’s give the gargoyles a chance at being the title bearer today shall we? And I’ve finally posted the codenames for the Bloggers’ Christmas Exchange! :D Hope everyone has fun! :D

I was really planning out this post again since last week but I had such a relaxing and inspirational weekend. Again I was contemplating on what I wanted to do in life. Can’t I just put in my occupation as “a Smiles worker?” or something and just work for Disneyland? But of course I can’t really do that and I’m a realistic gal. Well I try to think so. But spending time with my mom and her friends has got me thinking. Did you know that my mom has a friend who has TWO HUGE BOULDERS/METEORS in her home? For some reason, she found 2 huge rocks at the site of their house and she just built over it so now she has these two dead (if they didn’t kill the rocks, they’d have created a hole in the ceiling! One is just barely touching the ceiling!) rocks. The ambience is wondeful! Her home is absolutely beautiful and can be likened to this though no pool! XD the pool is at the backyard.



She’s a fellow dog lover like my mom so when you enter the gate, you see this kennel filled with her golden retrievers. Then she has wooden steps leading down to her home like the picture and the entrance is an open area also just like in the picture. It is one with nature! Then her backyard is even grander with a swimming pool (JUST FOR THE DOGS) and another kennel for the golden retrievers with transparent doors as they can be released whenever they want to play. It’s really magical! She then has a HUGE STATUE of Mother Mary overlooking Marikina. Then she plans to build a jogging path with the 2000 hectare land she has there. WOW right?

Well clearly she’s very rich but she’s such a good hearted person. She kind of revived the farmer aspirations of mine (also recently triggered by earthworms) as she told us her secrets of staying young (she’s 44 years old but she looks like not a day older than 30 >_<) and keeping fit is growing her own WHEATGRASS. I drink tablets of these to help detoxify my body and fix my digestion and acids but apparently growing organic wheatgrass is definitely better. And now she has introduced to us, KEFIR, a yogurt-like substance that is 100 times better than yogurt as it is a probiotic drink! *it tastes TERRIBLE THOUGH! I mean really, pure kefir tastes sour and ugh milk). I have drank it for 3 days now and I can say that I think it’s having an effect on me because my pimples aren’t appearing, my digestion is better, and I really do feel better. What really made me a believer was it HELPED HER SON WITH CANCER.

Two years ago, she found out that her son has cancer and how heartbreaking is that for a mother? It is even more painful to see that your 15 year old son may not have a normal life but she sought for answers and didn’t just stand by the sidelines. Being a health buff and nutritionist even before, she delved into the realm of medical books searching for ways to help her son cope with chemo and all. She found out about growing wheat grass, looking for Kefir grains through a friend in GERMANY (that’s how rare those things are!) and she culture them herself. I’ll be going back for lessons on how to culture them. Kefir grains are sort of like fungi and needs to be taken care of and be replenished with RAW MILK (yes dears, not just your everyday normal milk, it should be unpasteurized) so imagine how hard it is for her to find these.

And now look at her family now, two years after this ordeal of staying in hospitals (Singapore, US) and praying with intense devotion they are finally back on track and the cancer (Leukemia) is no more. And really, her son now 17 didn’t even look like he had cancer. He is fit and even back then every after chemotherapy, he ran for about a kilometer! The spirit really, wow! Such an inspiring story, brought my mother’s friend to tears.

Well I don’t know, maybe a spark in me wanted to be just like her. I want to pursue first this Kefir thing and experience how to grow it. I’ll update you all when I am able to.

So there, this post is just all about dreams and hopes and stories. So now I also share my other dream to you.

    I think I’ve heard of the Rosie and Aron love story. I just cant remember when and where exactly but it was really sweet and unusual. :) She takes and edits good photos! :)

    – I had a very shallow dream when I was a child. I wanted to ride a yellow bike and deliver milk to every houses. LOL. Peculiar dream, I know. :D
    2. Has something inspired you lately?
    – Yes. The words from my ex’s friend. We were not really close until he talked to me and said wonderful words that inspired me a lot. He shared to me his experiences and I realized how lucky I was.

    3. What’s your love story or what kind of love story would you like to have? Haha just curious :D – You know my love story. It’s uber complicated. Hm, I dream to have a “The Notebook” inspired love story. It never fails to make me cry and feel happy at the same time because the story is just so beautiful and full of love.

    My love story! Haha. Do you really want to know? lol

    The story of that lady whose son overcame well the hardship of staying in hospitals, being stricken with cancer and whatnot.. I can really understand.. A family member went through the same thing when he was only about 5 or 6 years old.. While my cousin’s problem has no cure, I’m glad the person in your story was able to be cured =)

    Theres this one memorable dream I had when I was still in grade school.I dreamt that I was flying like peter fan and went to grand canyon.Yay!

    i am happy to hear that your mom's friend's son has gotten over cancer & is healthier now. it's sad to hear about anybody getting cancer, but having to see your own child go through it is terrible. i wanna steal her pool though, & her entire backyard! it's pretty!!

    I really want to be rich and successful like that, but I want to do it on my own terms. I’ve always dreamed of owning my own business, and lately I’ve been working towards it. Let’s hope it pays off!

    Kefir, huh? I don’t know if I could do that. Its so hard for me to eat healthy. Even if it tastes good, it’s just not satisfying, and I end up eating a burger later, lol. But it does seem healthy.

  23. That’s just amazing about your mum’s friend and her son; what an inspiring story! The way you described her house sounds so lovely too, I sort of picture it in my mind as being a bit like a residential version of the reflection areas in the Chinese gardens in Sydney, Australia – just that same sort of peaceful ambience. That Kefir stuff sounds intriguing too, but I can practically guarantee I will never drink an ounce of it! I can’t even stomach that Yakult milk, and this sounds a lot worse! Lol.

    I haven’t heard about the love story between Rosie and Aaron, but I did have a quick look through their photos and they’re rather amazing. Very artistic and creative. Someone should hire them to make a coffee table book or something. :)

    1. What is your childhood dream?
    _At risk of sounding like Barney Stinson (from “How I met your mother”), I think my childhood dream for a long time was to grow up and be awesome. ;) Though these days I think I’d just settle for growing up, period. I’ve already resigned myself to not being awesome. :P
    2. Has something inspired you lately?
    _Not in any sort of postive life-changing way, no. Though listening to The Smiths and The Cure has inspired me to write some really crappy poetry that will never see the light of day. ;) 3. What’s your love story or what kind of love story would you like to have? Haha just curious
    _My love story thus far? It’s a romantic dramedy (dramatic comedy, lol) where girl meets boy, boy meets boy, girl is disillusioned, then wash rinse repeat for about 7 or 8 years. :P The love story I’d like to have?   27. OH MY WORD….ya mom’s friend’s house is TRULY GORGEOUS!!!! It is truly like it has frozen in time in that photo…GORGEOUS!!! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!

    And yes, I luv gargoyles and the stories behind their names – their mythical history and reputation in myths…I luv how some myths and even legends as well as fairytales hold some truth to them…it really gives you something to think about don’t it?

    Am glad to hear ya mom’s friend and her family got pass the whole cancer ordeal and made it this far in life – the whole health food diet with wheatgrass – That is something I wanna try too…can anyone try that kinda diet? As I need to start eating more healthier…

  29. Wow, I never knew that about Kefir. When I visit my mom, I see bottles of it in the fridge and she said it was like a smoothie drink, but I didn’t know it was SO GOOD for you! That’s pretty amazing about how that lady grows wheatgrass and what it does to improve your body, though. What you said really inspired me :o I want to start doing something like that, because I feel so run-down and icky, and exercising doesn’t really make me feel better.
