And yeah, I’m going to be talking about all three things today!

I’d love to feature some talented and awesome people that I’ve met along the way. It’s the least I could do to share their talents. I would really love it if you guys were able to see read my previous post regarding this life-changing perspective I’ve had. It’s great read for those into interior design and architecture :D

Speaking of design, I have such great artistic friends. One of my hidden dreams is to be a talented artist like my friend here, Amy Domingo, who is such a neko/cat freak. Her drawings are absolutely kawaii and it’s functional but pretty too! I SUPER LOVE her infographics and you know infographics are the in-thing now but she’s been doing this before it was cool.

Did I mention she loves cats?

She’s open for commissions too! :>

Another artistic doodler friend of mine is my hostee and lovely friend Mariel! You have to say that with a French accent, especially with the R because she’s part French you know :> Well she loves France (of course we do! we wouldn’t have gone if we didn’t :>) She is a different kind and quirky kind of artist/photographer and she LOVES PUNS. Simply loves em. Her art makes you think you know? Here are samples

So yes, go check her out, she even made a stop animation video but you have to search it in her site! :D heheh

Friends, ah, what can you do without them? I’m an introvert at heart though, I prefer the solace of solitude and silence. Sometimes I think that’s why I love to read. There’s nobody but myself, a book, and a whole new world out there. So maybe I do like having friends, just imaginary ones.

*crickets cricking* *kroo kroo*

Okay just forget I said that.

Have you ever met any of your online friends? I have and it has always been accidental like that time when I met a friend at yoga class! I didn’t even recognize her but she recognized me! Haha! I used to think before that people on the internet were no different to strangers, you couldn’t trust and how many times have we heard that story as a kid to not speak to strangers. And when the Internet blew up, people have even become “strange-ier” and paradoxically more familiar at the same time. People whom you couldn’t see, you were able to interact with. (that sounded a bit Yoda-speak-ish for some reason…) And since my mom bragged about how she had gorgeous Finnish and European pen pals back in the day, then I thought hey I’d have friends too and my 11 year old self signed up on this keypal site thing and away my online life bloomed. Of course I’m still wary, I still believe that there are cyber weirdo psychos out there who can impersonate kids and lure people into meeting them (and then hack them to death…. okay i’m being morbid here…) so you have ALWAYS TO BE CAREFUL ON THE INTERNET!

So wait… the point is, I’ve decided to set an official E.B. (eyeball events they used to call it, do people still call it that?) and meet my fellow administrators and owners of our Gryffindor Pottermore site since 3 out of 4 us were in the Philippines! It’s been more than half a year since we knew each other and I figured my correspondences were real people because… STRANGERS JUST CANNOT BE THIS ORGANIZED, POLITE, AWESOME AND CRAZY (in a good way)! Especially when you kind of talk almost everyday. It’s hard not become friends with them. We decided to meet up and watch The Avengers (MY THIRD TIME WOOHOO) in Trinoma. HAHAH

First I met the wonderful Tricia! It was so funny because I was waiting in front of KFC and the only description I gave her was “I’m wearing a blue top with horses on it AHURHURHUR” and she in turn told me she was wearing green and white. I knew what she looked like based from the pictures but I didn’t know if she’d recognize me. I was the first one to see her (or was it she?) and she laughed and told me off how what I was wearing DIDN’T LOOK AN INCH OF BLUE. Call me color-blind lady! We hit it off wonderfully WOOOHOOO even though it was the first time I’ve HEARD HER VOICE! GOODNESS! XD

Then I met April and her cousin but I didn’t recognize her with her back turned and then my brother had to call from Portugal so I was kinda confused at how to greet her and just hugged her! We’ve talked on Skype but I was amazed at how EXACT her online personality is from her real life! It was FANTABULOSO that we were finally able to meet! I think we’re going to be life long friends *tears up*

Here’s a photo of us!

Aren’t we the cutest Harry Potter fanatic trio? :D

And we met up once again, GUESS WHERE??

The unlikeliest place we could have went, PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK PARISIAN AND SM LADIES’ FASHION SHOW! XD hahaha. Actually we could be models, MALE ONES XD *I’m kidding kay??* I’m not fashionable at all since I’m just LEARNING how to apply makeup (work calls for it :/ unless I become an archaeologist or something, maybe I will :D) and also revamping my wardrobe. I don’t have any personal style and… I’m kinda boring :/ Well I do like shopping now. So I’ll start blabbering and show ya my fabulous friends.

Here’s a funny story though , I was SUPER CLUELESS for the first few minutes on what THEY WERE MODELING since they were all wearing the same thing. I was like… “UNDERWEAR?” and my friend smacked me on the head and said, NO SILLY, SHOES! XD And then I smacked myself on the head too because… yeah the screens were focusing on the shoes and I didn’t notice. Here’s a pic, and sorry you can’t see the shoes :D

Lookie it’s us again!

I wouldn’t be here at all without my barkada and the bestest friends I could have. Oh we’re all so grown up. It’s scary…

Well so how was your week? :D CONGRATS TO PHILLIP PHILLIPS for winning American Idol by the way! I stopped watching ever since Simon Cowell left AI and I never looked back. Maybe only during the finale since I am still curious at who’ll win. Take note, I watched the latter half of the final results show and I’ve never watched a Phillips performance, only Jessica Sanchez’s awesome performances so I couldn’t really say much about who I liked better. But I knew one thing, Jessica just DIDN’T CLICK WITH ME. I found her voice a “copycat” of a diva’s in the sense that she lacks originality and just belts out a song but I don’t feel it. Maybe it’s just me. I’m in the minority here since almost every Filipino were rooting for her and my twitter feed was filled with outrage since she lost. But for me, I was all right with it because I wasn’t really rooting for her. My parents were rooting for Phillips since they watched the top 2 finale show and my dad even though he kept watching Jessica’s videos, said that Phillips was more original and performed better so he was rooting for Phillips. We’re probably the only household in the Philippines who WHOOPED when Seacrest called out Phillips’ name. And after that, I watched his performances in AI.

And yeah, SIMON WOULD HAVE PICKED HIM! Amazing job on Home and Movin’ Out. PLEASE WATCH THEM. I’m not a super fan but I like his style better than Jessica’s. Did you see Jessica’s duet with Jennifer Holiday’s? HILARIOUS. Well more on Holiday’s because of her expression. It was a powerful performance though.

And I just think that it’s chance that a White Guitar Player won AGAIN this year. But I think… it is American Idol… Was Jessica Sanchez “American” enough? But I still say, Phillips won fair and square. NO DOUBT that Jessica will be a star (just get the right songs) and we know that an Idol crown doesn’t matter in Stardom. CHRIS DAUGHTRY BEST EXAMPLE. Also Jennifer Hudson.

Well CONGRATS TO BOTH! :D

  1. Awesome connection with the letter F’s there.

Your friend’s infographics are cute, funky, and interesting. :D I’ll pay a visit to her site sometime.

In my opinion, I really find Jessica’s talent amazing, however, I saw P2’s win coming. He’s cute and his style is unique, so it is likely that he’ll win. I’m not really bitter with this whole thing since it’s just a contest and it’s not worth getting too hyped up. :P Either way, congrats to the both of them and I hope they both establish their new careers soon.

  2. i love the cats design <3 <3
you girls are so gorgeous super! love it!!

well for me i was expecting Philips to win cause he's hot! :)))

  3. Holy your friends are great artists! I love infographics too!

I think back in the day meeting people online was such a taboo but it’s so common now with social media and all…

  4. I really like those doodles. I wish I was that creative but I’m more functional. As in, I can code.
It’s so amazing how creative and talented people can be in the arts. And I’m talking about talent you can understand and appreciate. Not modern art made with metal scraps. I have yet to get my head around that. :D It’s so cool that you internet mates got to meet each other. You look like you had a blast. I thought the pictures looked nice. You’re all so beautiful.
If I listen to the radio the DJs usually tell me all I need to know about AI and I base my opinions from there. Otherwise I am really not into that subculture. I used to be an America’s Got Talent die heart fan but for someone reason my interest in that has really slacked off this year. I kinda did go and get a life this past school semester so maybe that’s why. :D Yes I totally agree and support the idea that you don’t have to win to get a recording contract.

  5. Those graphics are cute! I wish I could also create stuff like that. I suck at creating really nice artworks, haha. I am a frustrated one, I guess. O.O

It’s nice to know that you’ve met your buds online. It’s cool, isn’t it? :D Meeting them and having fun like you’ve been hanging out IRL since forever. Haha. I had met my online buds since high school when I was already in college. It took that long, right? XD Hahaha. It’s only because my mother was a strict one and I was not allowed to go other places a.k.a malls. :P And you know what, we’re still friends until now. We hang out if our work schedules permit it. :3

I was supposed to go to the Impact fashion show of Penshoppe on the 26th. But I learned Ian Somerhalder will not be there so I just rested the whole day. D: Glad you had a blast on the fashion show that you’ve attended! You’re near the stage, huh? Cool! B)

Oh, I was rooting for Jessica because I like the songs that she sings. But I knew it was Phillips that will win. Also, when Simon left AI, I didn’t watch it anymore. Heh.

  6. Your friends are very talented! :-) I love Mariel’s illustrations!
One of my online friends has been my friend for almost 5 years now! We’ve never met before but he’s seen me in real life when we were queuing up to go for a rock concert. (Both of us love the same band.) But he didn’t come and say hi, which was a pity.

I love Harry Potter! Grew up with the series. :’-) I’m in Ravenclaw for Pottermore! It sounds lovely how you get along so well with your online friends! :-)

  7. I love this theme!

So jealous of those illustrations :) And I love those cute pics – I’ve met one or two people offline and it’s always a bit weird! I remember when people wouldn’t even give their first names out on the internet and now they’re happy to post their addresses in public Facebook groups. How things have changed!

  8. ang gaganda ng works ng friends mo Tiff! Very talented… I loved the Star turned Rockstar! WINNER! and the fork posting bout the lost spoon. ♥ Very nice.

I haven’t seen bloggers yet. You three sure can be the best of friends in the long run! :)

  9. I honestly think that it’s cool that you’ve already met an internet friend! I haven’t yet and want to. Although I’d definitely follow your advice on being careful on the internet lol. And omg we’re on the same page. I don’t enjoy watching AI as much as I used to with Simon gone! It’s just not the same. And I missed his awkward, but blunt opinions! Lolol xD

  10. I took a look at Amy Domingo. Her illustrations are amazing! I should probably pin some to Pinterest. I recently came across a few artists / designers who I thought deserve a mention, so really I’ve been thinking of talking about features too! There are so many talented people out there …

I have seen cartoon puns like those before. The jar one is my favorite! So adorable and hilarious! It’s called brainlesstales.com if you’re interested.

I have not met my online friends, and I don’t know how it’s possible to meet someone at a yoga class. None of my online friends live anywhere close to me. But since The Philippines isn’t huge I guess that’s a good idea to set an EB. Especially since there are several of you it’s easier to not worry about pedophiles. :P

I saw a few episodes this season because I was bored. Jessica has a good voice but she is lacking in personality and should just be an opera singer. However, I don’t like Phillip Phillips because his parents are too stupid to give him a first name, plus he looks like a total douchebag. Looks like he can fit in my classmates’ social groups rather than be a celebrity.

    [Reply my friend]

  11. Aww, that is nice of you to post about your talented friends! :)
They both look very talented in design.

That’s very courageous of you to go and meet your online friends especially because your introverted. I would probably be very nervous, and I’m not really a good talker (unless I have things to talk about) and I am VERY awkward in person, LOL. But you know, I embrace and acknowledge my awkwardness. But I hope I can meet my online friends someday! It’d be so cool! :D
You guys all look so cute in the pictures! I used to think like you too. Thought I was boring and drab with no cute clothes. But hey it’s a work in progress. I’m slowly incorporating and slowly being more bold, and getting into more flashy jewelries. It comes with age. I was a tomboy as a teenager so it’s something that you will get used to. So don’t bring yourself down! They say, you are what you think you are lol. So I try not to think negatively. And I hope you don’t either. Your beautiful. :)

  12. That’s cool you have such artsy friends. I don’t have much artsy friends unless you include my close friend who doodles and do cartoon-ish drawings. xD Reading about your friends reminded me of my sister and her own friends who makes cool cupcakes and one of her friends made her a case for her phone that has a bunch of pink beads on it and other stuff. Think Japanese kawaii heavily decorated cell phones. xD
I’m an introvert as well! It’s no secret, haha. I can be in my room all day if I wanted to. That’s why tiny homes fascinate me so much. It’s like one big room, but with a kitchen and a bathroom. You have everything you need in walking distance and it’s nice, quiet, serene…

    [Reply my friend]

  13. Your friend’s illustrations are so cool! :) I wish I can make something like that too. :)
I’ve never met any of my online friends. :( Good thing you met some of your online friends! :) I don’t usually go to blogger conventions or EBs, I don’t know why. “pa-mysterious” kunwari! haha! :) Although, I’d love to meet some bloggers too. :P

    [Reply my friend]

  14. I’ve never met any bloggers I know online, never had an EB too because I’m still young and my parents won’t allow me. It must be so fun! seeing the friends that you just met online, the internet is really amazing.

I visited your friend’s site, and their illustrations are really cool specially Amy :) I wish I knew how to draw and do the coloring in photoshop, it must be really a talent.

I used to watch American Idol, but this batch nah I didn’t watch it because for the same reason you had, Simon isn’t a judge anymore. I don’t really have no idea who I like more between Jessica and Philip because Colton was evicted. =))

    [Reply my friend]

  15. If it makes you feel any better, I’d think they were modeling underwear too… they look spiffy… is there a guys version!?

I’m cracking up at that photo of the three of you, because it looks so much like an album cover.

For the record, I am not one of your artistic friends. I can make you a nice stick figure if you ever want it, though. ;)

    [Reply my friend]

  16. I too was really scared of meeting up with online friends!! Haha the first time I did, I didn’t tell mom. I’d knew she’d go hysterical. This time around just weeks ago however, I tried to be brave because I wanted to finally meet this amazing friends I had online. It’s so amazing you got to that fashion show!! I haven’t seen one! And oh, I love those doodles by your friends sis *w* I wish I could do the same thing with my doodles :3
