To There and Back Again

I had the fortunate opportunity to read The Hobbit in my fantasy literature class and I enjoyed it immensely! In the future, I will reach my children not only the Harry Potter series, but this as well. Actually I would read them The Hobbit first just because Tolkien’s writing is suitable for younger audiences. It’s childish in the sense that the essence of innocence is preserved and there is genuine wonder at the world of Middle Earth. Not to mention that there are many funny scenes and situations that would delight any child (and child at heart). This is a TOTAL contrast of Lord of the Rings #2-3.

So why am I blabbering about The Hobbit? BECAUSE ONE OF THE GREATEST DIRECTORS OF ALL TIME HAS DECIDED TO RETURN TO MIDDLE EARTH AND FINISH IT! :woot: (CAN I PLEASE GET A PAYDAY LOAN SO I CAN GO TO NEW ZEALAND??)

*loud applause*!!!!

The first trailer of the first half of The Hobbit] (YEAH THERE WILL BE 2 PARTS!!) has just come out and I feel like that it’ll live up to my expectations :woot: The casting is perfect and Martin is just perfect for the young Bilbo! *hums the dwarves’ songs*

But what really makes me admire Peter Jackson, is he’s freaking down-to-earth. His riches doesn’t get to his head and he knows the most important part of film-making, which is the FANDOM! Well audiences anyway so he interacts with them, talks to them, and now introduces us to production videos which are so real and so sincere, you can’t help but feel like you’re part of the team too. This is what makes a great director in my opinion. He knows his vision and he knows how to do it! Now we know how magic is made, and despite him showing almost everything of the structure, we still retain wonder and mystery whenever we watch his films and I’m sure this will be the same for The Hobbit.

Currently there are 8 production videos (vlogs if you want to call it) and I’ll be updating this post every time he uploads a new one. It’s amazing though, how movies are made?

SO DECEMBER 21, 2012 ISN’T THE END YET COZ WE NEED TO WATCH THE HOBBIT 1 and 2

  1. wow.. i didn’t know about this. I use to enjoy watching lord of the rings and by watching the trailer i can say that i’ll love this movie too!
Same here, i really need to organize myself this year. 2012 is a very important year for me.

  2. I’m looking forward to this too, hoping it’ll start up a new line of fantasy epics again since Harry Potter’s gone. I’ve never liked twilight and I haven’t read the Hunger games so I’ve no idea about their upcoming movie. But I sincerely loved the Hobbit, from what I remembered :) I’m happy they were able to recast some elements for those that new LOTR but not so much the Hobbit. :) thanks for sharing the trailer ^_^ I’ve been so busy with school I haven’t been looking through them. I always have to watch production videos or making of’s in class so I’ve gotten bored of them but if the movie is interesting to me it helps to hold my attention a lot more of how it’s made

  3. I have many ideas myself, but to be truly honest, due to my frustrating way of not jotting down the ideas, I go all blank when I write a blog post. I do, however, sometimes have lots of ideas that I can’t fit them all in without finding it troublesome to read.

High-five! 2012 is that kind of year for me, too, though I don’t suppose I can really achieve it, considering that I’ve visualized it tons of times but never has it been achieved… yet. ;) I hope yours is well and all right. :)
I like reviews, especially book reviews. I was intending on purchasing a book (without even reading the description! I admit, I judged the book by it’s cover) but after reading a review, I decided against it. The review was nice, tactful and yet honest, which was awesome because it saved me tens of dollars. Yes, maybe the book didn’t appeal to the reviewer, but well, I tend to stray away if something doesn’t have good reviews. ;)
A truly frustrating thing about my computer right now is that I don’t have built-in speakers, which means that I can’t watch the videos. :( From the preview picture, though, I’ve taken a fancy to the things in the background which I assume are what they set up for the scene.

  4. I can’t wait for The Hobbit movie. Although, I must admit, I’ve never read the book :-/ Only the LOTR ones.

  5. YESSSS! I love Martin Freeman, he’s such a great actor. I don’t think anyone else could do the role of Bilbo better. And I loooved the book, the Hobbit, so much more than LOTR and the movies for LOTR. I really hope the Hobbit film will be good. It’s looking really promising and I think it’ll be the film of the year.

Also being organised is wonderful, I hope you will be able to do that in regards to your blog posts. I remember blogging so less often in 2006 – I had posts about 2000, 3000 words too. I tried dividing them into sections but I still ended up writing so much because I only blogged once a week or even less often.

I don’t mind writing opinion/review blogs, but I’d rather have them as articles so people can easily refer back to them ^^ I don’t watch or read a lot of popular things so the things I review people won’t really know. xD You can tell by some of the articles on my site, maybe. :P

  7. Waaaaaahhh! I can’t relate. I kinda dont’ like watching LOTR… or should I say I got lazy following the sequel…? Basta ung ganon. :)) Just allow me to comment about your plans. :p
Yeah I remember reading one of your posts having 2000 words. That’s really a lot but I know you’re just expressive of your thoughts Tiff! I’m excited for the reviews especially restaurants/food? Can’t wait! =]

  8. Ooh, I remember your super long posts. It could almost be compared to a very long essay! xD When I first visited your site and had read your recent post, I literally became overwhelmed, haha. It’s nice to know you’re planning to cut it down a notch!

OMG. I am a fan of the LOTR trilogy! I never even knew about the books before the movies. I also thought the first LOTR was a stupid movie and never watched it until one of my sisters did and she was like, “That movie is actually REALLY good!” So I watched it, loved it and went on to love the next two installments. A few of my other siblings like the trilogy too and it’s funny because LOTR isn’t our “cup of tea,” so to speak. :P

I can show off my love for LOTR with this cool bookmark I have that shows the different types of creatures/people and a book concerning LOTR: The Two Towers. I also am still familiar with most of the characters’ names! xD
ANYWAY, I can’t wait for The Hobbit. It’s just so nice to be able to watch a film relative to LOTR again. :)

  9. Oh my, I thought all along The Hobbits is a continuation of LOTR. I miss Frodo. Hehe. Anyway, thanks for sharing the trailer sis. :)

  10. 2000-3000 word posts are quite, um, boring to read unless your writer has something interesting to say. I don’t know how people can write that much in one post, I struggle to make mine 500 words long haha. I think 400-600 words is just right, though. :B

I need to work on being more organised; good luck with that! :)
I haven’t seen any of the LOTR’s movies – I’m not really a person who watches a lot of movies tbh. Looks like The Hobbit is going to be great though. :)

  11. The trailer actually looks pretty good. I admit, I’m not a Lord of the Rings fan, I’ve tried watching it once, all three of them, and while the effects were good, it wasn’t really my type of movie.
I always never know what to blog about. Most of the stuff I blog about still is pretty boring :S

  12. That’s exciting to hear! Thanks for sharing. I just watched the trailer and i’m kind of looking forward to see the movie lol. I like the LOTR series :)
