Absolutely no sense of a title but resonates a lot of meaning to me. I may be new to the graphic novel genre but The Sandman as my first introduction to comic book geekdom holds a precious place in my heart and I can then… be considered a bit of a Geek? I’ve recently shared the 2 latest video blogs of Peter Jackson’s production of The Hobbit (you have to watch the latest 2, you just have to!) and now I’m having a geek-gasm from the announcement of Neil Gaiman’s prequel to the Sandman series.
He eloquently reads various passages from the previous books (The Doll’s House, Brief Lives) and then builds up the momentum of throwing the idea of what Sandman was doing before he was captured. What important thing was he doing? And the thing that really caught me was when Neil said that he felt Sandman was INCOMPLETE (heck he wrote 10 awesome novels plus many other spin offs) without telling Sandman’s other tale. I’m really quite excited to read it next year (OH BOO that’s still a long way to go ) and I can’t wait to reread the books after I’ve read it. Hmmm I’m just not sure if I should read the prequel first or not… Ohoho!
I’ve been meaning to post other things but couldn’t bring myself to. I’ll try again next time
