A Year In Books: 2015

First of all, thank you everyone for your kind words in my last post. It’s amazing how looking at the bright side of life can change a somewhat dark time. 2015 wasn’t so bad after all. Thank you guys for making me see this.

But now, it’s time for that yearly book post!! πŸ˜€ Am such a bookworm xD

2014 was the year I had an abysmal reading record. I couldn’t even finish 15 I think but 2015 is the year I started another reading challenge. Sure I couldn’t do 50 anymore because of work but since I have now more control of my time, maybe I can do it again in 2016. This year I was able to finish 20 and that’s a huge leap from 2014 so I’m grateful for a little progress. I am delving more into non-fiction and inspirational/business books and hope to continue this in 2016. There is so much to learn from both imaginary worlds and the real world so I can’t wait to explore more incredible people’s minds.

Check out my Year In Books c/o Goodreads here.

Tie! A Jesuit Guide to Everything by James Martin and God Is Always Hiring by Regina Brett

Worst Book of 2015
Well it’s not really the “worst” but my least rated is American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin

Most Disappointing Book of 2015

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It only disappointed me because I was expecting 5 stars but it wasn’t something I’d read thrice.

Most Surprising (in a good way) Book of 2015
One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. People kept on recommending Me Before You but I liked the plot of One Plus One better because of its Little Miss Sunshine premise and boy I was blown away. Insanely loved this book!

Book You Recommended to People Most in 2015
Definitely for millenials – God Is Always Hiring and Rework. Or yes ARCHIE#1 reboot and start Saga please!

Best Series You Discovered in 2015
Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen. It’s been a while since I read a book with an incredibly strong-willed heroine. For those who want something out of the ordinary, read this!

Jojo Moyes. I will devour her books and I have 1 in line for 2016 already.

I realll really wanted to read Archie#1 reboot and I was able to read it! YES AND IT DELIVERED!

Sure it’s a graphic novel but I love the different covers of Archie#1 especially by Fiona Staples

Most Memorable Character in 2015
Queen Kelsea of Queen of the Tearling and Jess in One Plus One

Most Beautifully Written Book in 2015
God Is Always Hiring and The Jesuit Guide to Everything. They are such beautiful and inspiring works. I could make posters out of every quote in those 2 books.

Book That Had the Greatest Impact on You in 2015
God Is Always Hiring. Because Regina Brett just gets it. She gets everything.

Book You Can’t Believe You Waited Until 2015 to Finally Read
Saga! I should have started this series earlier but I guess it was a good thing I waited because the Deluxe version just came out.

How about you guys? What were your best reads in 2015? Can you recommend some books that I can read this 2016?
