How about you guys, are you celebrating Valentines’ Day? I have never celebrated it so it’s like a normal day for me. Good thing Chinese New Year is on Sunday too! Gonna eat out with mom’s side! Uncle from Shanghai is going back and he’s bringing his family! I MISS THEM!!

Speaking of relatives, I am so sad to hear that my favorite cousins from before (we became detached because of parents and shiz, so there haven’t spoken to them for like 5-7 years or something) are now migrating to Canada. And that my other set of cousins *young ones* ARE GOING TO CANADA TO THIS YEAR. Hell, only 1 other set of cousins besides us are staying in the Philippines. We’re going to be soo few now… This reminds me of how scary the future is, I’ve always been sort of afraid of the future, I mean what happens after college? Work? Where? When? ARGH. I’m going to miss all the lost time that would have been spent bonding with my cousins… I mean we did hit it off again even after a large year diff, even teasing my 2 month younger-than-me cousin that he looks like a Korean XD hahaa. Good thing there’s facebook, I really regret not keeping in touch. Sighs

I don’t want to really share family photos online so I “hid” it here. Do you think we look alike? 2 cousins at the left are the younger ones who will go to Canada later this year. The three at the right are going to Canada in… 7 days and the guys are my favorite cousins. Big dude in red is bro XD.

So there… I’m feeling sad and I feel so weird right now… I have this sudden bouts of “sadness” (i don’t want to call it depression) and it’s happening now. Good thing my best friend is helping me by making me laugh XD Oh and to not burden you guys much, I SUGGEST YOU WATCH PRINCESS AND THE FROG. I swear, after watching a couple of minutes, I couldn’t help but be like the Top Movie Critic, Roger Ebert, and exclaim

“No 3-D! No glasses! No extra ticket charge! No frantic frenzies of meaningless action! And . . . good gravy! A story! Characters! A plot! It’s set in a particular time and place! And it uses (calm me down here) lovingly hand-drawn animation that proceeds at a human pace, instead of racing with odd smoothness. I’m just gonna stand here and let it pour over me.”

Oh classic Disney with hand drawn animation, HOW I MISSED YOU. I teared up guys. I rarely do that but I teared up at the end of this movie. Was it the Disney magic? Or just plain relief of seeing hand-colored images brought painstakingly and lovingly to life by these artists? Or was it the richness of the personality of the characters? The songs in my opinion won’t be classics like Under the Sea or Beauty and the Beast or A Whole New World, but you’ll groove to the music. I have the last song syndrome with some though, and it has such a beautiful love/dedication song too. Watch and you’ll see.

Another hilarious thing happened last week, my mom and dad were at a dog show in Cavite and my dad playfully put Chico in front of the DRIVER’S SEAT with the engine running. Little did he know that Chico would put his paws and place them heavily on the LOCK SO BAM!! They were locked out of the car! XD Good thing mum had friends who helped them “break” into our own car. Too bad I wasn’t there!! XD

Oh I need your help guys! THIS IS IT! Four days from now, I would have finally chosen my TOP 3 DESTINATIONS for JUNIOR TERM ABROAD!! This is finally happening! Ever since I have been hearing about JTA in high school, I’ve been so ecstatic and anxious and now when it’s finally here, I AM SO FRIGGING NERVOUS AND SO UNDECIDED. I have already picked my 3 destinations, Japan(Osaka University), US(University of San Francisco or U of Pacific) or France (Lille Catholic University). Now all I need is to arrange them in order. I really like all three because of the many wonderful experiences in store. I still have to discern a lot this weekend and choose for Monday is the deadline. I want to take up subjects other than Computer Science so that i don’t know… have more experience in other fields. If you were in my place, how would you rank them?

So I’ve officially started to buy Christmas gifts for my friends ONLINE. Yes dears, because of the insufficient time I have, I had to explore and find ways to get gifts without hassling anybody, well I found the answer online! I have already received 2 packages and just waiting for 20 more packages *don’t worry, they come from 2 sources only XD* and then I’m ready! But gifts for my barkada (best friends) will be bought by me personally! haha!

I have just picked up today the shirt I won in Kym’s AWESOME RAFFLE! I am so loving the shirt because the cloth feels great, the fit is good and the color is so lovely! Mum and I also bought a new golden retriever puppy! Too bad I don’t really have a picture of him yet.. His name is Chico in honor of his grandad who passed away. Chico actually looks like him when he was young, so his breeder in the US says. Here’s something to show you what Chico *the grandaddy can do!* Hope to train little Chico someday too!

So now I just give you Rocky’s little boy! Aww the mom only had one single pup but we sure know that it’s going to be a big and healthy puppy! Aww isn’t he the cutest? He reminds me of Rocky when he was just a little pup! Don’t you wish you could just hug him?

Someday I’m going to make a history of our kennel or pet history. We’ve raised over 100 dogs I can boldly say haha!

I’ve always wanted to put something like this in my site, but since I can’t integrate it in wordpress yet… I think… so I’ve used formspring and joined the bandwagon! So got something to ask me that you’re too shy to ask? You can ask anonymously haha Just ask away! One person asked me about 7 questions STRAIGHT and full of “this or that” questions, haha and mostly about food. That made me laugh XD

But what’s with the title now Tiff? I’ve become suddenly addicted to Super Junior(Suju) and SNSD (Girl’s Generation)! Because again of Stephie (SHE’S BACK TO BLOGGING!!) and Gie. I’m not really a fan of Kpop because I don’t really “feel” their language *gets killed by Korean fans* but now after hearing this promotional song for Korean tourism that features SNSD and Suju, I think I’m beginning to change my mind. I LOOVEE the song! I love it enough to download SNSD’s albums (yes, I found a way to download them even though it’s frigging hard!) and got the Suju albums from my blockmate Gie. I’m officially a fan of these two groups. I still prefer C-pop and J-pop though so I asked Gie for some Suju M (Chinese singers of Suju) songs too Just watch this, please and you’ll convert like me too!

Music is universal, whether I listen to European songs or Asian songs and even if I don’t understand it, somehow the melody brings you along to the core of the message. I mean think about instrumental music. Even without lyrics, one is able to convey a feeling so PROFOUND and so INTENSE. Music just amazes me. I’ve been a fan of music ever since… I don’t know, when I can start talking. I watched tons of music videos of Gloria Estefan as a kid, with Madonna, some Chinese songs and joined singing contests and choirs too. Man, music is a part of my life I do sing everyday!

Just a note regarding the previous post, the image IS NOT a picture of her house. It looks a bit like it but it’s not her house. I wasn’t able to get pictures sorry Glad that you all liked the inspirational story! Hello to my 3 contestants (will become 4 as Tricia will send hers sometime) and I hope more will participate! This is my favorite contest of the lot and I’m going to be soo happy if you all join it! Pls do

I’m in such a Christmas-y mood right now ever since December 1 kicked in and the cold winter–I MEAN–wet breeze (we only have 2 seasons here in the Philippines, dry and wet) blew past my face in school at around 730 am. What lovely weather! It has started becoming colder as we are getting 23-25 degrees (that’s sort of cold for us already XD) and hopefully it’ll drop lower. Baguio, a province here called the summer capital, is already reaching 10 degrees and I so want to go there right now and pick strawberries and go horseback riding! Sighs… well I hope I can go back anyway. And I’ve been playing Christmas songs all over the place so it really does get me in a Christmas mood. And I can’t help but smile at myself when I bought an image of Mother Mary from a young girl who is selling religious items approached me and asked me if I could buy to help her raise a college fund. Everyone just seems nicer this month.

And what else can remind you of Christmas other than gifts and presents? I’ve been looking for gifts online since I can’t really go out much to buy gifts and I think I’ve found the perfect gifts for mum, dad, bro and a few friends! Not yet done with shopping though, have to go to the malls (went to the mall today and shopped ALONE for 2 hours, first time to do this) still and hunt for items! I’ve received some things too, such as these wonderful goodies!

People are puzzled that it is only now that I have bought a school shirt, well I guess I’m just not into our basketball games that much and I’m sometimes a stingy person. Good thing I now have this and it was given to me for free by our shirt printer of our geek shirts!

Second picture is the BEWARE OF PLANTS geek shirt that we’re selling. That is a Men’s XS for my mum’s and the third picture is the I KEEP ZOMBIES OFF YOUR LAWN geek shirt. Now that’s a Ladies XL and my shirt. haha I think I’m going to reprint 1 or 2 more designs. I still have to decide. Oh vay, if only money grew on trees! (these shirts by the way are designed by my friend!)

Fourth shirt is my SHIRT FROM WOOT! It’s the first shirt I bought online and the size is a bit big but I’m happy with it! It’s so cute! I also bought DONUT PANIC where you can see a Strawberry flavored donut panicking over his friend donut whose strawberry filling was spilling out. Kinda morbid XD Wore it yesterday so it’s still in the laundry, no pic! haha

Fifth shirt is my favorite! Our organization’s, CompSAt’s, shirt! Awesome, love the design and the color! Finally I have another yellow shirt! I have very few yellow shirts you see.. And the design is !

Sighs.. December and November actually reminds me of the hours spent decorating our high school classrooms. It all started with first year when I was president and me and my mum were so into decorating stuffs. So we’d go to school on Sunday (haha SEE HOW DILIGENT I WAS? Well here’s a fun poem that I made a few days ago! Decided to be fun and play with words. So here’s what came up, do tell me what you think of it. It still has a morbid tone, but it’s… fun to say. Haha! I have already a tune for this but that’s a different story.

And I’ve finally posted the codenames for the Bloggers’ Christmas Exchange! Hope everyone has fun!

I was really planning out this post again since last week but I had such a relaxing and inspirational weekend. Again I was contemplating on what I wanted to do in life. Can’t I just put in my occupation as “a Smiles worker?” or something and just work for Disneyland? But of course I can’t really do that and I’m a realistic gal. Well I try to think so. But spending time with my mom and her friends has got me thinking. Did you know that my mom has a friend who has TWO HUGE BOULDERS/METEORS in her home? For some reason, she found 2 huge rocks at the site of their house and she just built over it so now she has these two dead (if they didn’t kill the rocks, they’d have created a hole in the ceiling! One is just barely touching the ceiling!) rocks. The ambience is wondeful! Her home is absolutely beautiful and can be likened to this though no pool! XD the pool is at the backyard.

She’s a fellow dog lover like my mom so when you enter the gate, you see this kennel filled with her golden retrievers. Then she has wooden steps leading down to her home like the picture and the entrance is an open area also just like in the picture. It is one with nature! Then her backyard is even grander with a swimming pool (JUST FOR THE DOGS) and another kennel for the golden retrievers with transparent doors as they can be released whenever they want to play. It’s really magical! She then has a HUGE STATUE of Mother Mary overlooking Marikina. Then she plans to build a jogging path with the 2000 hectare land she has there. WOW right?

Well clearly she’s very rich but she’s such a good hearted person. She kind of revived the farmer aspirations of mine (also recently triggered by earthworms) as she told us her secrets of staying young (she’s 44 years old but she looks like not a day older than 30 >_<) and keeping fit is growing her own WHEATGRASS. I drink tablets of these to help detoxify my body and fix my digestion and acids but apparently growing organic wheatgrass is definitely better. And now she has introduced to us, KEFIR, a yogurt-like substance that is 100 times better than yogurt as it is a probiotic drink! *it tastes TERRIBLE THOUGH! I mean really, pure kefir tastes sour and ugh milk). I have drank it for 3 days now and I can say that I think it’s having an effect on me because my pimples aren’t appearing, my digestion is better, and I really do feel better. What really made me a believer was it HELPED HER SON WITH CANCER.

Two years ago, she found out that her son has cancer and how heartbreaking is that for a mother? It is even more painful to see that your 15 year old son may not have a normal life but she sought for answers and didn’t just stand by the sidelines. Being a health buff and nutritionist even before, she delved into the realm of medical books searching for ways to help her son cope with chemo and all. She found out about growing wheat grass, looking for Kefir grains through a friend in GERMANY (that’s how rare those things are!) and she culture them herself. I’ll be going back for lessons on how to culture them. Kefir grains are sort of like fungi and needs to be taken care of and be replenished with RAW MILK (yes dears, not just your everyday normal milk, it should be unpasteurized) so imagine how hard it is for her to find these.

And now look at her family now, two years after this ordeal of staying in hospitals (Singapore, US) and praying with intense devotion they are finally back on track and the cancer (Leukemia) is no more. And really, her son now 17 didn’t even look like he had cancer. He is fit and even back then every after chemotherapy, he ran for about a kilometer! The spirit really, wow! Such an inspiring story, brought my mother’s friend to tears.

Well I don’t know, maybe a spark in me wanted to be just like her. I want to pursue first this Kefir thing and experience how to grow it. I’ll update you all when I am able to.

So there, this post is just all about dreams and hopes and stories. So now I also share my other dream to you.

I shared in my bucket list that I want to try cosplaying! It’s costume role playing for guys out there who don’t know. I just think it’s fun dressing up but I’m an insecure little girl and the clothes won’t look good on me so I don’t try. Well I hope to try someday. My friend Lev does cosplay but I don’t have the courage like her yet! I was just reminded of this when I saw this AWESOME cosplaying at my friend’s blog showcasing a cosplay of BioShock’s Big Daddy and Little Sister.

Awesome right? The photography and everything, the costume makeup, whoa! It’s so nice!

Speaking of photography, have you heard about the love story of Rosie and Aaron in Flickr? Well can you imagine that their love blossomed in just the dimensions of their flickr photos and e-mail? How love transcends really! All it took was a first funny photo of Aaron squirting whip cream in his nose and the rest was history. It is again so magical to me and also, I am very much impressed with Rosie’s photography! Imagine, she is just 18 (or 19 like me??) and she can edit photos like a pro! Her project 365 is breathtaking! You can see how beautiful the images are and how their love bloomed too I love how sometimes her photos are so dark, depressing, morbid and sunny at the same time! Pls seriously, you have to view her photos!
