I think my past 3 consecutive posts have started with me apologizing for not updating that frequently but I think I’ll just stop saying it because then my posts will have become redundant. And I don’t want to read the same thing over and over again (unless of course it’s Harry Potter or a good read heeehee) too so I’ll save you guys the trouble. I’ve just come to accept the fact that I won’t be posting like crazy like the past months. I actually can’t believe that I always post so few during June. *check my past archive XD* I guess it’s because it’s always the start of a new school year but this year it’s different. Actually this whole later half of the year will be different, I’ll be going out of the country in August and I can’t imagine being able to maintain my site for four months. Hell, I just realized this problem… I hope that I’ll still be able to update though!

It’s still a miracle that I still get comments THANK YOU SO MUCH!! And I’ve been getting 100 spam comments now a week and some I don’t even want to erase because of these *but of course you know they’re spam coz… uh why would a guy name “buy new home” say all those?*

I’ve been feeling so… I don’t know, weird (well I’m always weird…), desolate, emo and all that crap the past few weeks. In philosophy, I’ve learned that desorbitation causes these kinds of feelings and I think I am experiencing desorbitation. It’s the loss of not of something, but of SOMEPLACE, of the WHOLE thing/being actually. I mean think about it. If you lost for example a car key, you’d definitely be able to find it, because it’s tangible and all. But what if you *knock on wood* failed the biggest exam that would determine your future? What did you lose really? The test score? The feeling? What? You’ve probably lost the reason for living or something. Well… I think I’ve lost something… I’m just not sure on what.

For this post, I’m going to keep it short and let you guys do the talking. A friend of mine asked this question recently….

“If money wasn’t an issue, nor expectations from peers and family, what would your job be? What do you want do?”

Well I’d answer: founder of a wildlife preserve in Africa, South America and maybe China. I’d want to help in the environment. I’d also want to be a food taster, be in broadway, be a voice actress. How about you guys?

Wizarding World of Harry Potter FINALLY OPENS TO THE PUBLIC!

Even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan, you must at least be excited for the fact now you can go in castles, DRINK BUTTERBEER (this will be the first thing I’ll do), ride dragons, ride broomsticks, go to Zonko’s joke shop, candy shop and I’m sure a WHOLE LOADS MORE after a few years of more construction and renovation. Good thing I’ll probably be able to go there after uh.. 5 years? Well that’s an estimate anyway and it could change but I gotta save meself some money first!

The cast of Harry Potter were there on the grand opening and it was simply magical! It’s best to check out the videos here and just be WOW-ED!

Does anybody plan to go there anytime soon this year? All I can say is that good luck with the early LINES (and to think that picture was cut, making the line even LONGER)!! I wish there was a floo powder system too or at least even a broomstick system! Too bad there’s no technology for that yet XD

I’VE FINALLY WATCHED FRIGGING TOY STORY 3!
I’m a Pixar baby through and through and I can recite all the films in chronological order and even directors to what films and also some trivia about them though I’ve still got a LOT to learn. So watching Toy Story is a treat! Toy Story isn’t exactly my favorite Disney or Pixar film but as a franchise, it’s the best there is! Check out the rottentomatoes link above and you’ll see all 3 Toy Storys with 100% rating each (except for Toy Story 3 at 99% because some douchebags “critics – 2 of them actually – like Armond White gave it a rotten rating. I swear that guy is insane because he also rottened Up, An Education while freshed Jonah Hex and then compared Transformers 2 to Toy Story 3…. you get the idea of my hate) and they frigging DESERVE IT. Toy Story 3 was such a compelling and moving film. I didn’t know that a franchise could build up to become better and better. We didn’t get this feeling watching Star Wars. Heck we didn’t even get this feeling in 99% of the trilogies (well am biased to my Lord of the Rings fandom so I say it’s equal to that) but Toy Story stands out.

Its marketing strategy calls it the GREAT ESCAPE but it’s more than that. It’s about moving on, dealing with friendship, growing up, making more friends and living on. It incorporates good humor and some slapstick comedy too but that’s what adds the charm to it. It was just too bad that some new toys were only given a few screen time. I would have loved to know more about the toys in Sunnydale. Ken and Barbie are HILARIOUS and you’ll be missing a few characters too.

All I can say is that you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I had super high expectations from this and again Pixar has exceeded the bar they set up. Unlike The Karate Kid remake (Kung Fu Kid) which was also awesome, I had super low expectations so going over the bar was of no problem. But Toy Story is another class of its own. There are flaws, some things that you may not like but that’s probably only 0.001% of the film. Mr. Potato Head by the way creates one of the most hilarious moments in CINEMA HISTORY. Okay that’s pushing it but it’s just me. I’d watch this film again and again.

OH!! 3D does nothing for it by the way. I suggest watching it in 2D where you can watch in peace. Watch Step Up 3 in 3D but NOT TOY STORY 3. Save yourselves some few bucks. The trailers had more use of 3D. And Woody and Buzz will be appearing in a short right before Cars 2 next year! We’ll still see them!

I don’t even want to comment about this anymore. I really don’t know what to expect. I remember watching smurfs and playing it on the video game and I can’t imagine them having a plot where they actually go to the REAL WORLD. And it doesn’t help that Neil Patrick Harris will be voicing one of the leads. How about you guys? What are your thoughts? I’m just… uh another popcorn flick?

Have you guys watched Katy Perry’s California Gurls official music video? It’s… um.. unusual and doesn’t really portray California (just a lot of girls and skin XD) at all but you’re in Candyland. So is that a metaphor of California? O_O Howell.

I definitely loved this parody video better though because maybe… I’m a nerd, a geek (am not sure if dork is the right term for the people he’s mentioning in the video) or whatever so it’s definitely a music video you can “get”. haha! Anyway I really liked it! I’d love to make a parody of something too.

To those who read my PHILIPPINE ELECTIONS 2010: Food For Thought post, thank you very much! I’d appreciate it if you guys still read it, TOMORROW IS FINALLY THE ELECTIONS! For those undecided, you still have a few hours until you decide. Research well!

And for those asking if I bought the insanely expensive Rosetta Stone, think carefully when I said *cough cough**pirated** cough cough*. It’s not exactly a good thing but I can’t afford the original one T_T Sighs… If I only had money, everything I own would be original but no can do…

Okay so that was initially the introduction of my “latest entry” but I backed out and I went on hiatus and I’ll be actually going on another hiatus next week because of long exams and midterms. This semester is darn hard and I am trying to really fix it up. I’m so glad History 165 (Philippine History) is over because it’s the subject that tortured my soul out during summer class. It ate up all my free time and urgh, I’m just so happy that everything’s over and done with. I’m so glad that I actually edited a video again and it came out pretty good. That video saved me from my quizzes. Was able to scrape a B+ but an A would have been good… Should have done better in my midterms darn!

Now my only problems are Philosophy (it’s actually my favorite subject now despite all the headaches I’m getting from it. It really opens you up to a new way of thinking. I’d recommend anybody to take it up if it’s not in your core curriculum. Just get a good professor, one of the most important parts in class-picking XD), Software Engineering and Computer Organization. Computer Organization is kinda darn difficult but hopefully I’d manage!

I didn’t make an outline or list-of-things-to-blog-about again for this post so pardon me if my post is all over the place. xD I’m so grateful that you guys are really still visiting especially hello to my new blogger pals! I’ve been getting an alarmingly amount of AD-SPAM comments. Have you ever gotten those comments that suddenly talk about home loans or anything? Sorry those who try to advertise on my blog by COMMENTING, it’s just so weird to be getting those… I delete them right away XD

So I’ve had more free time this week so I was able to finish a new series (and it’s my new love, way better than Glee in my opinion :P) called Community. It’s about this lawyer who has to retake a 4-year college degree because of some problems with his previous degree so he decided to take the easy way out by attending the Community College of his friend, a psychology professor, but after trying to woo the first hot girl he sees, he suddenly “forms” a study group and then all hell breaks loose! This show introduces a new favorite character of mine who I’d like to call the next “Sheldon”. If you watch The Big Bang Theory then Abed of Community will definitely remind you of him but in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MANNER. Watch below if you want to watch a preview! I swear you have to watch this!

It’s so sad that most series have already released their season finale this week It’s so darn sad especially when it’s summer here and then you’d have to wait for a long time (November right?) for a new season. Darn! Good thing am now starting with True Blood and Flash Forward. Maybe finish the seasons of House and Ugly Betty too once I have enough time. Howell….

I’ve progressed a lot with my project 50 leaves and I’ve read 12 books already! WOOT! (okay so 4 of them are graphic novels… XD it’s still a form of a book :D) Am now reading my 13th one and hopefully I can finish it this weekend OR next next week Anybody with a Shelfari account? Add me pls? My project filmography is down in the dumps though.. I haven’t watched a movie in a while…

I FINALLY BOUGHT A NETBOOK GUYS!! Remember my predicament in the past regarding netbooks and how I wanted to so much for a Disney netbook? Well it never happened but I was able to get an ASUS Eee PC 1005HA for just 14,500php!! Woot! Upgraded memory (RAM) and all so it’s just 16,500php. A bargain if I should say since most netbooks here start at 19,000 I even bought Gelaskins for my netbook (still has no name ) and got 1 free since my friend and I availed the buy 3 get 1 free promo. Haha Will share it all once it arrives

My birthday’s coming up next week and I’m just not feeling it again. I’m going to our organization’s formsem (a weekend activity to get to know the new executive board and managers) on my birthday and I just don’t want to go to any activities on my birthday… I don’t like big celebrations since I’m more of a solitary person and I just want to celebrate it with either family or close friends. This is the reason why I chose to not tell my blockmates that it was my birthday on our first meeting (in our freshman’s orientation activity). XD What can I say, I’m a boring person and I don’t want people to fuss XD

Yey am so glad that everyone enjoyed the egg house in the last post! You guys are awesome you know? For telling me it’s okay to update only once a week or when I only feel like it… but I do have this urge of blogging every after 4 days and it pains me I can’t do it. I’ve now got a midterm and long exam next week and I really can’t wait until History (Philippine History & Rizal) IS OVER! It’s ruining my life!

So if I said I talked to a friend or have a strange opinion, it’s not me. It’s just the ingenuity or lack thereof that’s acting there, so hopefully I didn’t offend anyone here…

I’ve been studiously learning French with Rosetta Stone *cough cough* and I just bought Berlitz’s Phrase Book and Dictionary as my friend Cheryl suggested. I would really recommend it because it has tips on pronunciation and categorized in particular situations such as shopping etc! Rosetta Stone is AWESOME too because it’s really VERY INTERACTIVE. Heck they don’t even have translations! They’ll only show pictures and their corresponding French word and now it’s up to you to remember and associate them. Rosetta Stone aims to boost your intuition and I’d recommend it for ANY LANGUAGE. I’m planning to get *cough cough* one for Spanish, Korean and Japanese again sometime. Maybe German too.

Again nothing is going on with my life except my friends and I just ate a GODZILLA BURRITO (it was around 2.5kg!!) and we finally watched IRONMAN 2!! *Robert Downey Jr. HOTNESS!! Scarlett Johansson HOTNESS ZOMG!!!* I just fainted I think.... XD Ironman 2 ROCKED the whole theatre but... I don't know... I felt something missing... but RDJ DID SUPERB AS USUAL ahahhaa!!

Nothing happened again this week… I mean we just built a paper tower during Software Engineering class (it’s for team building! Our prof says! and it patterns the management system of projects and stuff) and I found this idea on the net of using the accordion style for great balance but it was very vulnerable to the wind. Good thing it rained and we built in down the steps so that we’d escape the harsh winds! Man did you know that that day was probably the first time it rained after weeks of drought? GAWD!

And thank you all who noticed something VERY DIFFERENT with my blog. Something pink, something… BIG!! hhahaha Yeah I’ve changed layouts after EONS guys! Man, I was sick and tired of looking at green for almost a year (bloggie’s birthday is coming up in May! Guess which date? *clue: it’s in the blog somewhere…*) and I found this awesome pink theme (well, pink would be different for me, what I would really love is a red theme :D) from Anne and fell in love with it. I might change the header sometime though but can't promise it. I want to retain some panda things here too hhehee Or maybe it won't necessarily be a panda, let's just see. Dang, still no surprise video of mine, well... you know as they say... just be surprised someday!

And I AM SOO HAPPY BECAUSE... I'm in the Dean's List for 3 semesters already thus making me a DL for one year! It's an awesome feeling because... I don't know... this semester was very interesting and different. I worked hard for 2 As in Science and History because you really needed to study there (or cram real hard!) and I had the best professors there. Anyway... here's my grade! (highest grade point average here is 4) I am really skipping for joy! I hope that I'll be able to maintain it in my junior term abroad! It's so scary since we're just so few this semester. I'll be flying to France in Septemmberr omg only 5 months left!! April-July, JTA sem, YOU'RE GOING DOWN!

All this health talk especially promising myself to lose weight this year is motivating me really to eat well and lose some weight! I’m really quite determined since I started my food blog around end of February. I haven’t really told anyone about this yet because… I don’t want to call it I’m “dieting”. I was inspired by one of my best friends to just “EAT HEALTHY”. The secret of losing weight is not starving yourself nor is it going to the gym 10 hours a day or what. It’s just about making HEALTHY CHOICES. Go eat a burger once in a while (but once you watch Food Inc, you might even try to NEVER eat burgers again) and have some sweets but it’s all about balance. I think it’s time to share just a little bit of “wellness” – a term coined by me and my friends when we were kidding and having fun last Tuesday at Shangrila Mall. XD

I’d love to explore the whole Philippines first because really, there’s SO MUCH TO SEE! Being in the city all the time sucks and I still want to get away from it all. I’ve only been to Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Quezon, Batangas, Tagaytay, Baguio, Pampanga. Everything is in Luzon! I need to go south and see Cebu, Davao, Mindoro, Iloilo, and of course… PALAWAN! I’ve even been searching online for flight rates and all. It’s not that expensive (for locals) but if you include the hotel accomodation, the works, it’s DARN EXPENSIVE! I do miss family vacations, it’s been a long time since my family went abroad. Last time it was only me and my brother and grandmother who went to visit my uncle in Shanghai. And now with dad’s gout acting up, it’s even more unlikely Do you guys have any relatives or friends with gout? Do you know any treatment of it? Dang I do wish I won’t get it when I grow old. It ain’t pretty…

Okay let’s go to HARRY POTTER NEWS ZOMG!!! If you guys live in the states and you watch Ellen’s show, then you must have heard of her offer to two SUPER HARRY POTTER FANS a chance to go to Florida and take the first sneak peek to THE HARRY POTTER THEME PARK! I’ve been going crazy over this and crying when I heard it in twitter because I’m not a US citizen so… I can’t participate. And then Ellen chooses these 2 cutest little kids to go with her! Here’s the video!

I found it so funny when she asked the kids, “How’d you like that?” and then a cut scene sound XD Man they must have not perfected butter beer yet because it is supposed to be awesome! I really have imagined how butterbeer will taste like. Blame me and my Harry Potter fandom XD

My fingers are itching to press the CHECKOUT CART button in online stores because I’m having this shopping cravings again! Now it’s for The Sandman, cute panda stuffs and BB creams maybe. I’ve bought this cute panda mug from Gel already and I’m wishing that my friend in Korea can bring me home some Sandman novels (in Amazon.com, they have it for 13++$ but in Korea, ONLY 9-10$!! WHOOT!! Every little dollar saved counts Call me little miss stingy!). Now for BB creams.. i have to think about it… but man! I must remember to save up for my netbook and my junior term abroad! Must must SAVEEE!!

Hey guys!!! Long overdue post in my opinion because gaack… if there were such thing as the BEST BUM award, I’d be it this week because I didn’t blog or bloghop because I didn’t have the time nor because I was busy, I was actually kinda free but I just didn’t have the energy to do anything…. sorry guys! Now I am quite and now because I have SOO MANY things to do in the final 2 weeks AS A SOPHOMORE. Crappity crap, I really can’t believe that time flies so fast! I am soo doomed because I still have to do my Database project, Math project (thank heavens we’re done with our ELECTRONICS project!) History finals, 2 Science Long exams (this subject is quite useless they say but I really find it fascinating!), Database finals, project presentation, Math finals GAACKKK

I AM SERIOUSLY DEAD. And the approaching semester (I’d be going to school right after my 2 weeks of vacation for my advance semester before Junior term abroad) requires about 7 SUBJECTS (well 2 subjects will only last for about a month but meeting is EVERDAY). SAY GOODBYE TO TIFF K NOW. SAY GOODBYYE FOR SHE WILL DIE BEFORE SHE IS ABLE TO LEAVE IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER!

Have you ever experienced getting giddy because of a very romantic line in a movie? To the point that you feel your heart melting when you hear it? (for me it could be the line of Mr. Darcy in the 2006 Pride and Prejudice when he says, “One word from you will silence me forever” HOLY COW I MELTED THERE <3 <3) Or maybe you'd really feel the adrenaline once the hero says something? Well these could probably called the best lines but the more interesting ones are the worst lines EVER SAID. Come on, we'd had that moment of CRINGING. I'd like to hear from you though what are the worst quotes you've heard in a movie, but I'd like to broaden that and say what is the worst quote for you OF ALL TIME! I’d definitely would and it’d be soo exciting because it’d probably either bore you or scare you out of your minds. I think that I’d be just interested in it and not be really scared. I do like Horror movies! Man what the Germans can think up eh?

Okay… now on to something… I’ve also been avoiding the net because I’m again feeling down No it’s not of the same sentiments as my last post but I can’t explain it. So I’ll just let music do the talking. I thank Clairessa again for sharing such wonderful music, I think she and I have the same tastes!! I am now officially a FAN of Florence + The Machine and I think that Florence is a GENIUS. If you think Lady Gaga is a genius, then you have someone who is more brilliant and who is able to dress normally to boot! This is again my opinion I’m going to buy her CD (yes guys, NOT DOWNLOADED FOR ONCE!) and that really says something. I am converted and I do love her songs! Favorites include “Dog Days Are Over”, “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)” and “Drumming Song”.

P.S. I am hating America (those who are voting on American Idol anyways… sorry sorry sorry! I am just so frustrated!) because THEY FRIGGING BOOTED OUT THE WRONG PEOPLE ARGHHFHG HATE HATE HATE!! I AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING TO STOP WATCHING!! I thought that it’d be next year when I’d stop watching because SIMON IS FRIGGING GONE. NOW THEY DO THIS, AM GONNA BOYCOTT A-IDOL!!

Everything has a beginning and everything has an end. Whoever said that matter is neither created nor destroyed is BULL because there is the creation of the universe and unless everything was just like instant noodles, then we’d assume that the universe was here all along. There is then no concept of time or anything because a human being just can’t fathom such vast knowledge. Remember that scene in Indiana Jones (the latest one, the one that didn’t live up to its predecessors actually) when Cate Blanchett’s character was absorbing all the knowledge of the universe from *TOOOT* (no spoilers here! XD) and she couldn’t take it and was blown to smithereens? Well I imagine that that would happen to me if I know everything. I believe that God created all so matter did have a creation. sort of Haha And as for the end… will the universe end? Well go back to Indiana Jones story and you’ll know my answer. I think that if it is meant to be known, we’ll know then or probably after life.

Sorry for such an “emo” introduction but I can’t help thinking about the past, the present and the future now. It all connects to saying goodbyes. I hate saying goodbyes especially to the people I love. I really disagree with Elton John and I think that somtimes, Sorry isn’t the hardest word. Goodbye is. Sometimes you can’t even say it. You can’t even look at the person (okay maybe sometimes sorry is really hard to say coz you also get these symptoms) and you can’t help but look away or don’t even attend the departure of that person anymore. I’m not good at adapting, this is why I sucked when we changed sections in grade four. And it also sucked when I had to say goodbye to 2 of my best friends because they were changing schools. I thought that nothing would change even after that but… OF COURSE IT DID. I had even MORE trouble saying goodbye to my dogs (when they passed away) and then saying goodbye to my brother when he went to Portugal for his Junior Term Abroad a year ago and I did shed a tear

And now one of my closest blockmates is going to Korea for 9 months for this sponsored exchange program and I am genuinely happy for her because this is such a BIG opportunity and plus she’ll be going to her dream country and probably meet up with Korean boy bands and get a Korean boyfriend and I am so happy for her! This is a dream come true! But to see one of the closest person in the block, one of the nicest persons you’ve ever met just go away for 9 months, you suddenly imagine all sorts of things like what would happen to you when you get left behind. Things would definitely change.

And I think of my own sojourn to France this September – December. I’ll be pondering on how I’ll be taking this, and how my parents would be taking this too and how everything would change. There must be a beginning to everything but it means the ending of a phase. Of a stage. Of something important but it’s the beginning of an opportunity also!

Okay I feel a little better now

I just attended my first Kpop concert, F.T. Island’s, ever with Gie (she’s the one going to Korea!) and I was even HESITANT of going! Well one thing, I wasn’t a true fan (heck I didn’t even know the names of the members, their songs except for one, the theme song of You Are Beautiful <- AWESOME telenovela for my international friends who love these kinds of things. WATCH IT) but it was the first event that my aunt organized and I decided to support her(plus it was discounted)! And plus Gie really wanted to go so it'll be a bonding moment for us! It was also her first concert EVER. I was soo thankful that it was in an enclosed area. I swear, concerts in the Philippines SHOULD BE ENCLOSED. Even if open-grounds concerts are fun, IT'S JUST TOO BLASTED EFFING CRAPPING F$%^$^(&$&& HOT HUMID HOT HOT HOT!!!! Really, it's just the first week of March and EVERYTHING IS SCORCHING. I SWEAR IT'S CLIMATE CHANGE AND I'M GONNA MELT. I'LL MAKE MY REFRIGERATOR MY NEW HOME! Swear.... ARGH!!

Okay where was I? Oh yeah. CONCERT! IT WAS SOO MUCH FUN!! Because the singers talked to the audience (with the help of an interpreter host, haha XD IT WAS FUNNY!) and plus... I never realized that some of them LOOK GOOD IN PERSON. I actually didn't think of them cute in the posters but when you see them in person... you'd want to melt! And I liked 2 of the guys there, the one at the leftmost and at the rightmost. We were at the leftmost side but had a good view as we all shifted to the right too. XD And the thing was... I couldn't help but...ASSUME (but remember kiddos, assuming is BBAADDD) that Jaejin (leftmost dude) was looking at somebody at our side because... he KEPT LOOKING AT US!!! Swear, and I don't know, he'd even WAVE AT US. I don't know if I should assume that there was 1 second of eye contact between us.. HAHAHAA Okay I'm assuming too much but it would have been nice to say, "HEY I was able to make eye contact with a star, even for just 1 SECOND!" XD Haha am desperate much. Sorry guys! Didn't know the name of rightmost guy but he was the cutest!

Show was AWESOME but it was too short in my opinion aww man...

Thank you for all those who advised me on which netbooks to get. I really appreciate it but for the meantime, my best friend and I have decided to delay our purchase because it’d be better to order later in the year and nearer to our departure date. Maybe finally then ASUS will release a grown up Disney laptop… I’m thinking of buying in the US because laptops there are cheaper! Hope that some of mum’s friends come home in July. But oh dear!! Only 5 and 1/2 months away until… I get my independence!! Well a little independence at least!

This is just a quick post. Suddenly I had this sudden urge to post…. about something… and that something is…

MAGIC.

Okay not the hocus pocus kind of magic. It’s this charm that some people have that will make turn you into jelly just because of their talents. Have you ever had the experience of stopping dead in your tracks, as in you’ve stopped eating, breathing, doing your assignments or whatever to just waste a few minutes just so you could listen or watch him/her? Well that happened to me twice this week and it’s all because of their TALENT.

It’s official, I simply love talent shows. Look what Britain’s Got Talent gave us, SUSAN BOYLE. I swear I cried after watching that audition. I mean just to see her unconsciously SLAP the audience’s faces by singing with all she had just… just brought tears to my eyes *thus the Cheesy title, my gosh…* And then you have American Idol (ALEX LAMBERT IS OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE GUY CONTESTANT from this batch I do like Lee Dewyze and Andrew Garcia Girl faves could be Siobhan and Katie but I still have to decide tomorrow at their show!) bringing in talents like Melinda Doolittle (possible the BEST vocalist EVER on the show. EVER. And then America had to boot her out, WHYY!!! I keep rewatching her audition whenever I feel like I’m losing hope in American Idol (like last week) and hope that someone would SHINE like her. Carrie Underwood is still my top IDOL but Kelly Clarkson + David Cook + Kris Allen come close!

When finally the Philippines caught on and has decided to put up a talent show “Pilipinas Got Talent”, I was really hesitant because… I did not watch our local shows. I wasn’t really brought up on them because I was fed with the news, National Geographic and HBO and of course Cartoon Network as a kid so… there. I didn’t grow old with our local shows. But mum liked to watch them though so when one day, she was tuning in to Pilipinas Got Talent, I STOPPED walking and looked at the screen. Is this really what I’m seeing? A pianist with NO HANDS (incomplete arms guys, INCOMPLETE ARMS) and a girl who HAD A GUY’S VOICE? (okay so Nick Pitera can sing like a girl but I haven’t seen a girl singer who had a deep guy voice except maybe for Cher or Annie Lennox) I was really intrigued because they actually… SOUNDED GOOD!! Really!

You guys have to watch this. There’s English subtitles for all!

And then someone shared a link in my facebook, again about somebody in Pilipinas Got Talent. I was already in a hurry and just needed to check my email this morning but I said…what the heck, I’ll just play it. And then my ears heard such a wonderful golden voice of a young Filipino! He had such an amazing voice packed in a small frame! MY GOSH. YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS DUDE TOO! Dad says that he is waay better than the girl singer I shared above so pls, WATCH GUYS. My dad was left speechless and I was late for class this morning. It was that good so PLS WATCH. Also with subtitles

I teared up at the end too but not as much as Susan Boyle’s. This is why Talent shows are so… wonderful because you really DO NOT KNOW what gem you’ll discover underneath all this auditioning. Only a few will really stand out and when they do, you’ll find them in such UNLIKELY PLACES. These shows inspire other people and these shows are opportunities for such people. These shows make them BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES. You guys may have a different opinion but this is mine. Pls let me know what you think in the comments. I really do like to hear if you agree or disagree with me.

These videos are also special because… these people are more special because of what they have gone through. A lot of Filipinos like Jovit are impoverished and have so much little… and to be given such an opportunity as this and finding that HE has talent, is so inspiring. I hope to see more of him. Now it really makes me want to watch Pilipinas Got Talent

I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH ALICE IN WONDERLAND TOMORROW! I know that it has been running in our theatres for about 4 days already but I still have yet to watch it! I’m soo excited already and this will also be the last bonding session with my blockmate who will be going to Korea for 9 months on Tuesday I can’t wait to see this movie because my heart Johnny D is going to be there (despite him dressing up... like a clown XD) and it's Tim Burton's project! I'm kinda biased but am kinda frightened that this movie only got a 50+ rating at Rottentomatoes. Hope it's not that bad!

How about you guys, are you celebrating Valentines’ Day? I have never celebrated it so it’s like a normal day for me. Good thing Chinese New Year is on Sunday too! Gonna eat out with mom’s side! Uncle from Shanghai is going back and he’s bringing his family! I MISS THEM!!

Speaking of relatives, I am so sad to hear that my favorite cousins from before (we became detached because of parents and shiz, so there haven’t spoken to them for like 5-7 years or something) are now migrating to Canada. And that my other set of cousins *young ones* ARE GOING TO CANADA TO THIS YEAR. Hell, only 1 other set of cousins besides us are staying in the Philippines. We’re going to be soo few now… This reminds me of how scary the future is, I’ve always been sort of afraid of the future, I mean what happens after college? Work? Where? When? ARGH. I’m going to miss all the lost time that would have been spent bonding with my cousins… I mean we did hit it off again even after a large year diff, even teasing my 2 month younger-than-me cousin that he looks like a Korean XD hahaa. Good thing there’s facebook, I really regret not keeping in touch. Sighs

So there… I’m feeling sad and I feel so weird right now… I have this sudden bouts of “sadness” (i don’t want to call it depression) and it’s happening now. Good thing my best friend is helping me by making me laugh XD Oh and to not burden you guys much, I SUGGEST YOU WATCH PRINCESS AND THE FROG. I swear, after watching a couple of minutes, I couldn’t help but be like the Top Movie Critic, Roger Ebert, and exclaim

“No 3-D! No glasses! No extra ticket charge! No frantic frenzies of meaningless action! And . . . good gravy! A story! Characters! A plot! It’s set in a particular time and place! And it uses (calm me down here) lovingly hand-drawn animation that proceeds at a human pace, instead of racing with odd smoothness. I’m just gonna stand here and let it pour over me.”

Oh classic Disney with hand drawn animation, HOW I MISSED YOU. I teared up guys. I rarely do that but I teared up at the end of this movie. Was it the Disney magic? Or just plain relief of seeing hand-colored images brought painstakingly and lovingly to life by these artists? Or was it the richness of the personality of the characters? The songs in my opinion won’t be classics like Under the Sea or Beauty and the Beast or A Whole New World, but you’ll groove to the music. I have the last song syndrome with some though, and it has such a beautiful love/dedication song too. Watch and you’ll see.

Another hilarious thing happened last week, my mom and dad were at a dog show in Cavite and my dad playfully put Chico in front of the DRIVER’S SEAT with the engine running. Little did he know that Chico would put his paws and place them heavily on the LOCK SO BAM!! They were locked out of the car! XD Good thing mum had friends who helped them “break” into our own car. Too bad I wasn’t there!! XD

Oh I need your help guys! THIS IS IT! Four days from now, I would have finally chosen my TOP 3 DESTINATIONS for JUNIOR TERM ABROAD!! This is finally happening! Ever since I have been hearing about JTA in high school, I’ve been so ecstatic and anxious and now when it’s finally here, I AM SO FRIGGING NERVOUS AND SO UNDECIDED. I have already picked my 3 destinations, Japan(Osaka University), US(University of San Francisco or U of Pacific) or France (Lille Catholic University). Now all I need is to arrange them in order. I really like all three because of the many wonderful experiences in store. I still have to discern a lot this weekend and choose for Monday is the deadline. I want to take up subjects other than Computer Science so that i don’t know… have more experience in other fields. If you were in my place, how would you rank them?
