Do any of you guys have Pinterest? Oh I can hear you guys grumbling “Not another social network, AGAIN.” Actually it does seem like Tumblr but in a more organized manner. Pinterest is somewhat like a corkboard and shelf all rolled into one. For example, you were looking for a particular style to redecorate your home but there are so many. So what you do is you “pin” it on a particularly board in Pinterest and then you’ll be able to review them all at a later time. What I love about is it’s graphical user interface and it’s just so easy on the eyes. It’s bookmarking WITH STYLE. I’ve already made 12 boards and I’ve also indicated my dream camera there too, just so I won’t forget it or anything. I will get a DSLR someday and after hours of research, I do know what camera and lens to get. I just need… you know, moolah. So if you’re on Pinterest already, ADD MEE! One of my favorite boards there is of course, that dream house “Welcome to My Abode” board. Ever since I was young and had to move away from my grandparents, I knew I wanted my own room just like what other “normal” people had. Why am I still sleeping in the same room with my parents EVEN up to now? Why can’t I tear down these walls and decorate to my own liking? Well of course money money money is the problem and the fact that we’re just renting our house. So if ever the owners decided to boot us out, I’ll be homeless. So I don’t really have a permanent home, this is why I love the phrase, “Home is where the heart is” because I can make ANY PLACE my home. And thus the dreamer in me continues to dream. I’ve grown out of my pre-teen and teenage phase so unfortunately I can’t decorate my room like one anymore (well WHO SAYS SO… I still can! haha) but I have a vision of what my dream house would be like. It’s got to be big, and spacious! Check out my dream house board.

Seems though I LOVE to incorporate nature and books in my future home.

Maybe live inside a mountain or a hill

Or float around in my lazy river inside the house

Or yeah again in a cave

But then something revolutionary happened last week that threatened me to jump off my dream precipice. I watched a documentary on Youtube called “We The Tiny House People” and it featured the tumbleweed houses and various other people who were able to build extraordinary homes in such a limited space. It wasn’t actually my first time to see this particular house

which looked like a cabin compartment on wheels more than anything else. Somehow it wasn’t able to change my perception of my dream house but after watching this documentary and to find out how living less doesn’t always mean living more, but it doesn’t mean that LESS CANNOT BE MORE. Why can’t it? A lot would disagree with that statement at how having less things mean more things. But I believe that we can make it more. You got to work to achieve and if you check out my favorites in the documentary, such as this amazing 400-square feet boat home by Heather Wilcoxon who ditched the Hollywood glamour to live on a boat.(no I am not a hippie or bohemian-ish really… i would change the interior design but the concept is amazing)

My favorite apartment though has got to be Christian Schallert’s apartment in Barcelona. They call it the “lego-style apartment” because of how everything is connected and hidden. It’s perfectly functional too.

This space-saving idea is so practical and wonderful but might be turned off by those with kids. Of course you can’t raise kids in these kinds of quarters but it doesn’t have to be such a big difference right? People who have built tiny homes state that one of the reasons why they love building these is because of “being lazy” and “no dusting required” statement. Actually that’s a perk but I think the reason goes beyond that. Less cleaning is always helpful but let’s not forget that it’s great for sanitation purposes, it helps with countries’ density problem. Building these kinds of tiny houses is more economical and cheaper they say because of lower rent rates and of course less land needed and I do agree.

I look at the problems here in the big city of Metro Manila and look at the squatters and shanties around and I can’t help feel a nudge somewhere… that this might be a solution to their problem. I don’t know how it’s going to be implemented or not but applying these kinds of concepts could help with the environmental waste problem and also the squatter situation. I want to pitch this idea to somebody but I feel like I lack the needed knowledge (i am not an interior designer or an architect) but this is an important idea that must be shared. What do you think?

Please take the time to watch this documentary, it might be long (1 hour and a half) but it’s really worth it. You don’t have to watch it all now but it would be great if you take the time to watch this too. This has affected me so much that wherever I turn to in my home, I’d see “WASTED SPACE!!!” and say “TOO MUCH SPACE FOR 3 PEOPLE!!” and I want to take out everything. But it’s not yet my home… wait till I get my own. Nature will definitely be a part of my future home though.

I’ve always wondered what the Earth has seen through her lifetime. As the opening song of The Big Bang Theory goes

“Our whole universe was in a hot dense state,
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started. Wait…”

If the Earth really were 14 billion years old (CORRECTION 4 BILLION YEARS AGO, thanks Chiui!), then man, she must have seen a LOT of things. And she’s probably made a lot of things too. Whenever I just walk around along the streets of anywhere, any country, I always wonder, what lies under the ground beneath my feet? I’m sure there’s dirt, crust, bones, and who knows what living things. The Earth has risen I think as we pile concrete or other materials on top of the Earth, we tend to bury a lot of things. And yeah, maybe we can find things inside mountains and volcanoes too.

And who knows what you might find.

Probably a gold mine, maybe Atlantis, maybe your lost sock.

Okay I just wanted something to rhyme so pardon for the corny title. I just can’t get this thought out of my head so my pre-prepared posts just have to wait a little while longer to see the light of day.

You all know about the concept of Karma right? Or how about this quotes…

Well I added the running part just because this person has already been THREATENED a lot of times. I won’t even divulge here the nickname of that… that… PERSON (oh do I wish I could use words of HATE but remember the title of this post XD) who has been actively cyber-bullying FELLOW college students, PROFESSORS, and even graduate students (she POSED as a graduate student but dearie we can sense that you’re an undergraduate here). So how again do you define cyber-bullying?

According to Wikipedia (yeah you can use it here in a blog but not in papers XD)

Cyberbullying is the use of the Internet and related technologies to harm other people, in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner.

And if you read her blog my friends, it is FULL OF HOSTILITIES and what even disgusts me the most is that the commenters ARE THE SAME. They keep suggesting PEOPLE to bring down. Think of this girl as a Gossip Girl-wannabe. Seriously she “tries” to dig up dirt about them and uses baseless rumours to shoot them down. But evidently her research is just bogus and she makes FALLACIOUS claims such as how she branded this certain student to be a USER just on how nice she is in the pictures. WTF was that? She even bashed professors which is incredibly DUMB for her if she is a student who has no respect at all. Have your own opinions but if it leads to bullying and hate, you’ve crossed the borderline my friend.

I can’t believe that she thought that what she was doing is “for the greater good” because then it would lead my fellow schoolmates to have a voice. A VOICE OF WHAT MAY I ASK? A voice full of crap if you ask me. She’s not rallying for a good cause, she’s rallying for a lost one. Oh this girl has TRIED to hide her tracks and be anonymous but she wasn’t able to do a FULL research on hacking. She didn’t realize that she was creating enemies (DAHELL) by the hundreds and that one of her enemies could be a best friend of someone she bashed, who happens to be a Compute whiz (if you know what I mean).

So she opened a pdf file by somebody she doesn’t know (WRONG MOVE FOR ANY USER. WRONG MOVE. NOW THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL. DO NOT OPEN FILES WHICH WERE SENT TO YOU BY SOMEBODY YOU DON’T KNOW/DON’T TRUST. GAHD THAT IS A STUPID THING TO DO.) and it so happens that it was a pdf file within a pdf file containing you-know-what and KABOOM! Guy knows her identity and emails her about shutting down her blog or HER DAYS AS A STUDENT ARE NUMBERED.

Seriously, she was indeed an undergraduate student. HECK MAYBE EVEN A SENIOR AND WE ONLY GOT ONE WEEK LEFT. Smart move my friend. Smart move!

So now the whole community is applauding this guy for bringing her down in a peaceful manner. But of course ethics and principles come to mind and I would like to leave a question to my readers, was it the right thing to do? I meant the thing when he decided to keep this girl’s identity a secret AND HACKING (which is unethical but what about that hacking group called ANONYMOUS (they hack to CREATE BUZZ FOR HUMAN RIGHTS/RIGHT CAUSES and I applaud them for this)?. The professor involved wanted him to divulge her identity because she has just crossed the line too much and must be reported to the administration. Or should the guy keep his word, his agreement with this girl? How about the statement THE ENDS JUSTIFIES THE MEANS? So hacking was okay because we were able to bring this down?

Thank you guys for reading my article on SOPA. I know it’s not the best explanation but it’s sort of a brief intro on it. I really want people to become aware of THIS HUGE ISSUE that’s going to affect the whole INTERNET. Call it communism or socialism but they are trying to hold a monopolistic power over your Internet freedom. Please read as much as you can about it even though it has been TEMPORARILY SHELVED at the moment because the FBI isn’t waiting for some bill to pass. They’ve already killed Megaupload and Megvideo and what’s stopping them from taking Dropbox (aww sh*t I have some files in there! I better back it up…). If you haven’t read it yet, I hope that you do read it if you have time!

Imagine that, Timothy Brown after 4 years of an innovative procedure… suddenly has no more trace of AIDS in his system… this is groundbreaking news! I hope that this year, I’d be able to blog more responsibly and spread news such as this more. I do like sharing information with people, information that I care about too. Maybe this is one reason why I’ve thought of being a journalist… but it isn’t one of my top career goals. I just really like sharing information with people… is there a name for such person?

If you were able to read about my very depressing post (the one about hamsters), I dreamt a very weird dream that night and I have been dreaming and have recalled EVERY DREAM THE PAST TWO WEEKS. Is this normal? Do you dream and then remember your dream every night? I was able to do some research online and every article says that EVERYBODY dreams except you probably don’t remember it since you woke up too far from R.E.M. stage or you didn’t have an R.E.M. stage. It’s so strange that ever since I internalized and thought about death and was frightened and shocked at the possibilities because of my sickness, I’ve been dreaming EVERY night constantly and sometimes I dream more than one dream. Sometimes I feel like the dream has been going on for a LONG TIME and once I even dreamt of the dream TWICE in a row but in a different manner. And just the other night, my dream felt SO REAL, I thought I was having a lucid dream. I somehow knew in my dream that I was dreaming…. and swimming in the ocean under the bright blue sky and I thought to myself, “Wow this is so realistic” inside my dream. Usually though I have weird dark and morbid dreams (i just had my Zombie Apocalypse dream, also me getting sliced by a meat cleaver at my back, don’t worry I wasn’t frightened of these dreams since they’re so common and I probably got used to it :/) so the wonderful dream about swimming in the ocean was such a respite from the past days.

Maybe it’s my subconscious telling me that graduation is nearing…

In one month I’m about to enter the real world…

and my subconscious is saying…

Not yet.

Whenever I blog, I usually have so many ideas that I bunch them up together (check out my 2009 blogs, I usually write 2000-3000 words a post. HAHAHA ) and people probably get confused on what to comment on now.

Well I plan to change that as 2012 is my I’m-supposed-to-be-more-organized year because, I need to pick up the pace and you know, I’m gonna be in the corporate world or wherever this year. Well anyway the point is I need to lessen my weaknesses to become a better person. So I got my planner ready and now this whole, arranging posts bit. I now write a draft for every new idea I receive just so I have some posts in queue and even if I’m busy, I will still be able to post using my queued posts! hahaha!

I decided to write reviews too (i should be more bold, say my opinions more clearly and firmly because i am an insecure person ). I’ll be posting my first restaurant review soon and also add my movie/book reviews too. I talked about a book in my previous blog but haven’t really gotten reviewing it yet.

This post though will feature movies, trailers and production videos in particular. I had the fortunate opportunity to read The Hobbit in my fantasy literature class and I enjoyed it immensely! In the future, I will reach my children not only the Harry Potter series, but this as well. Actually I would read them The Hobbit first just because Tolkien’s writing is suitable for younger audiences. It’s childish in the sense that the essence of innocence is preserved and there is genuine wonder at the world of Middle Earth. Not to mention that there are many funny scenes and situations that would delight any child (and child at heart). This is a TOTAL contrast of Lord of the Rings #2-3.

So why am I blabbering about The Hobbit? BECAUSE ONE OF THE GREATEST DIRECTORS OF ALL TIME HAS DECIDED TO RETURN TO MIDDLE EARTH AND FINISH IT! (CAN I PLEASE GET A PAYDAY LOAN SO I CAN GO TO NEW ZEALAND??)

*loud applause*!!!!

The first trailer of the first half of The Hobbit] (YEAH THERE WILL BE 2 PARTS!!) has just come out and I feel like that it’ll live up to my expectations The casting is perfect and Martin is just perfect for the young Bilbo! *hums the dwarves’ songs*

But what really makes me admire Peter Jackson, is he’s freaking down-to-earth. His riches doesn’t get to his head and he knows the most important part of film-making, which is the FANDOM! Well audiences anyway so he interacts with them, talks to them, and now introduces us to production videos which are so real and so sincere, you can’t help but feel like you’re part of the team too. This is what makes a great director in my opinion. He knows his vision and he knows how to do it! Now we know how magic is made, and despite him showing almost everything of the structure, we still retain wonder and mystery whenever we watch his films and I’m sure this will be the same for The Hobbit.

Currently there are 5 production videos (vlogs if you want to call it) and I’ll be updating this post every time he uploads a new one. It’s amazing though, how movies are made?

So when Discovery Channel started its Curiosity series, I was intrigued. Heck and they keep on showing the commerial for its episode on female orgasm and what it’s for narrated by maggie gylenhall. But what really interested me was their segment for….WAIT FOR IT….

Yeah what would you do? Would u avail these medical treatments if it were possible? Andrew Sage (guy from myth busters) tries to explore this world and yep, freakily (is there such a word?) the technology we have today seems to be telling us that it is possible in the near 50 or so years. THEORY OF SINGULARITY GUYS! (try googling what it is. XD) I really liked the segment except for a few farfetched parts (a flying brain… Seriously? but…) anyway i’ll stop yapping and you can check it out now. So it’s the New Year tomorrow. Besides asking a lot of questions, I do want 2012 to be a fresh start. So many thins will change and i am optimistic at saying that 2012 be an awesome year for me. I swear that today will be the last day of procrastination. I have to fix my life and find le reason! LE REASON! I even thought of a new tradition of writing down this year’s failures and achievements and burning it afterwards. Or maybe i should only burn the failures… Maybe oh dear i only have a few hours to decide xD.

I haven’t written anything personal for a while… okay maybe I have but I haven’t really blogged because I wanted to just write for the heck of it. I’ve always been writing as if I were in a mission or something lately like that NU Skin Scam (part 2 is coming right up!) and Ensemble E-Travel/Metrodeal Scam but now I just wanna share what’s been going on lately (which isn’t much… i think I’m becoming as useful as a fly… which isn’t really useful more of a pest… *talks more to self* ) through photos! Narration is just too long and I know that everyone’s busier than a bee these days! Also tune in for a GREAT REBRANDING/MAKEOVER of my site!

I’ve also got a new tutorial for Mac users concerning how to use and add subtitles. I’ve done a bit of research and have found a way to play subtitles with MKV files. So if you got a problem with it, check this out.

Ever since becoming a Pottermore beta tester, I’ve been actively participating with Order of the Lions, a Gryffindor order where we share tips and tricks of Pottermore and share other Gryffindor creations. I’m really happy because I found such good friends and we were even able to put up an Unofficialy Daily Prophet. I’ve always hated cooking because one, HOT environment and I always thought that it’s such a waste to prepare something and have it disappear at once. It turns out this selfish notion disappeared because I now feel so worthwhile when somebody says, IT TASTES FANTASTIC!, after having someone eat your cooked meal. Brother and I made Roasted Iberian Chicken, Garbanzos, Yogurt sauce and I think we did well! My brother is a great cook really.

And when Halloween came and brother didn’t allow me to cook a Halloween dinner, I then decided to make drinks, Butterbeer Latte (milk version) and Cream Soda version with my friend and BOY did I love making it! For recipes, comment here and I shall show you Next time I’ll be baking cupcakes, another thing to cross off my bucket list. Oh I do love latte version better, especially after leaving it in the fridge for a while. I wish I could have trick or treated though NEXT YEAR I SHALL PREPARE!

Well am using iPhone!! Haha tis awesome really how technology works. I am soo happy that you guys have visited and commented once again! I really shall visit you guys when next week comes because life would be more free then. A bit then i go to my internship duties!

I really wanted to share a book with you guys. I picked up this book in The Shakespeare and Company bookstore in Paris, France (every wall had a book crammed in, even the sides of stairs were not spared. It was the dream place of every bookworm!) even if saw this book here in the phils, the cover drew me to grab and sniff the pages, flip through them and just hold on tight and never let go. Im a judge a book by a cover type of person (because covers are part of books too though harry potter is my totem for breaking this rule of mine back then) and i fell in love with this edition. I wasn’t sure of the plot yet but i bought it anyway along with another book. After reading it tonight, i couldn’t help shed a tear. Scratch that tears.

It was wonderfully told in the point of view of a german girl living with a german family during the second world war. I have a bias towards holocaust novels and i love them for some reason. Maybe because i felt humanity in their pages. Of how humanity is capable of such goodness and extreme atrocity, what a wonderful and dreadful paradox! I loved Number by the stars and the Diary of Anne Frank but this book i shall remember up to my grave because of such compelling charactwrs. I cried at the hopelessness and futility of it all. And i remembered the fall of tearsdrops ive been shedding the past few days. Maybe it was because of academcs, of the intense pain of enduring that “cleanig” session in the derma a while ago which involves needles (yes it hurt like hell), and of whatever shallow or whatever reasons, i’ve been tearing up.

But then i contemplate and i try to still see some goodness in life. After all we’re here and we can’t do anything about it. There must be a reason why everything was made like this right? Sorry for such thoughts but I need to reflect a lot especially since my Philosophy final orals is next week and our professor wants insights, not just some parroting students. It’s a good thing too he let us watch Wit (HBO, 2001), a very um.. witty and remarkable tv film with the awesome Emma Thompson! I really loved how they explored death and the life of a person while the settings are only in the hospital or the university. It really does make you think…

I really do indeed recommend reading The Book Thief and watching Wit! Please do because these are such gems and am sure it’ll add something to your thoughts and reflection. That’s it. I swear, I think I’m going to migrate from this country (already at 88%!) if the weather does not cooperate and adjust to normal settings (well even if it weren’t like the old, at least the weather could act NORMAL and NOT GO LOCO!). I may sound like a brat but the constant variation of the climate from SCORCHING HOT to thunderstorms is too much. I think we’re all going to get sick sooner or later because of this. As I plan to turn this blog into something personal and productive, I’m going to list down tips I got from this site that could help prevent climate change. Sorry for making this grave topic the top paragraph of the post. It’s the most important thing on my mind now. The state of the earth.

Easy Things You Can Do To Help Our Climate:

1. TIP: Travel light. Walk or bike instead of driving a car. Cars and trucks run on fossil fuels, which release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In the United States, automobiles produce over 20 percent of total carbon emissions. Walk or bike and you�ll save one pound of carbon for every mile you travel.

Tiff’s say: YES PEEPZ! Crash the car of your bestfriend now or carpool with your barkada or just… walk a few meters to your fave store. It definitely helps.

2. TIP: Teleconference instead of flying. For office meetings, if you can telephone or videoconference, you will save time, money, and carbon emissions. Airplanes pump carbon emissions high into the atmosphere, producing 12 percent of transportation sector emissions.

Tiff’s say: Well I don’t have the money to fly anymore so I don’t think that this is a prob… haha!

3. TIP: See the light. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs. These energy-efficient bulbs help fight climate change because they reduce the amount of fossil fuels that utilities burn. You will save 100 pounds of carbon for each incandescent bulb that you replace with a compact fluorescent, over the life of the bulb.

Tiff’s say: Yup! Already telling the ‘rents to buy one! Seriously, turn off lights when not in use. Plug off all electronics too!

4. TIP: Recycle and use recycled products. Products made from recycled paper, glass, metal and plastic reduce carbon emissions because they use less energy to manufacture than products made from completely new materials. For instance, you�ll save two pounds of carbon for every 20 glass bottles that you recycle. Recycling paper also saves trees and lets them continue to reduce climate change naturally as they remain in the forest, where they remove carbon from the atmosphere.

Tiff’s say: Yap! Don’t forget to share your blessings and also give stock items to charity. Really helps. Adidas is also having this promo called the Wanted: Old Shoes campaign where you can get a discount of P1,000.00 off on new adidas shoes bringing your old branded shoes to any participating Adidas store (I think all of them participate). They will be donated to Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Peoples� Education. Click the poster for more info. Only up till May 17 (that’s this week! Man, adidas should be lucky for this promo. hahaa)



TIP: Inflate your tires. If you own a car, it will get better gas mileage when the tires are fully inflated, so it will burn less gas and emit less carbon. Check your automobile monthly to ensure that the tires are fully inflated. Follow this tip and save 300 pounds of carbon dioxide for every 10,000 miles you drive.
5. TIP: Plant native trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air and use it as their energy source, producing oxygen for us to breathe. A tree in the temperate zone � found between the tropics and the polar circles�can remove and store 700 to 7,000 pounds of carbon over its lifetime. A tree that shades a house can reduce the energy required to run the air conditioner and save an additional 200 to 2,000 pounds of carbon over its lifetime.

6. TIP: Turn down the heat. Heating and air conditioning draw more than half of the energy that a home uses in the United States. Turn down the heat or air conditioning when you leave the house or go to bed. You can easily install a programmable thermostat that can save up money and carbon.

Tiff says: This is one of the hardest thing to do for me since it’s blazing hot here. I’m trying my best and i’m persuading mum to do the same.

7. TIP: Buy renewable energy. Electricity generation produces 40 percent of carbon emissions from the United States. A growing number of utilities generate electricity from renewable energy sources with solar panels, windmills and other technologies. If your utility offers renewable energy, buy it. If not, send them a message asking for clean energy.

Tiff says: Righty-o. Do we have this technology in the Phils? We have right? Hope we do!

8. TIP: Act globally, eat locally. If you shop at a supermarket, the food you buy may travel in a plane from the other side of the world, burning fossil fuels the entire trip. Shop at a local farmers� markets and you will find fresh and healthy food, and help save our climate.

Even F.R.I.E.N.D.S. fans are disbanding and joining the HIMYM fandom just because Barney is in the show. But I what I love really are all the characters (not just Barney) and their CRAZZYY quotes. It’s just too hilarious! I just don’t like the prepostrous “mother” concept because how would the kids not even know the name of their own mother? Is it because she’s dead? hmm… I want it to be Robin! haha lolz The network actually has a BARNEY’S BLOG! GO CLICKY! haha It’s just not that� updated though

I’m going to the 2 Davids concert with some of my good friends at SM MoA (Shoe Mart Mall Of Asia)! I’m really excited since I’m a big fan of these two (their CDs turned out GREAT! haha) and I can’t wait to see how they react in concert. Haha. I haven’t been this excited since Maroon 5 concert! haha. Here’s an ad but notice the marketing fail.

I’m such a movie nut and I would watch ANY movie as long as it has good reviews from my favorite movie sites *I’ve added a Panda favorites category for my fave links! Pls check them out! I’ll be adding more though hehe* and my fave blog critic Mark Kermode *he doesn’t have a blog unfortunately, only a YOUTUBE VIDEOBLOG! WHOOT!* so I went in to watch Star Trek without any background on its characters and plot. Well I only knew that they had a guy with pointy ears and that there’s a Captain Kirk and Spock. Well what did I think about the movie? It’s absolutely……………………
