I think my past 3 consecutive posts have started with me apologizing for not updating that frequently but I think I’ll just stop saying it because then my posts will have become redundant. And I don’t want to read the same thing over and over again (unless of course it’s Harry Potter or a good read heeehee) too so I’ll save you guys the trouble. I’ve just come to accept the fact that I won’t be posting like crazy like the past months. I actually can’t believe that I always post so few during June. *check my past archive XD* I guess it’s because it’s always the start of a new school year but this year it’s different. Actually this whole later half of the year will be different, I’ll be going out of the country in August and I can’t imagine being able to maintain my site for four months. Hell, I just realized this problem… I hope that I’ll still be able to update though!

It’s still a miracle that I still get comments THANK YOU SO MUCH!! And I’ve been getting 100 spam comments now a week and some I don’t even want to erase because of these *but of course you know they’re spam coz… uh why would a guy name “buy new home” say all those?*

I’ve been feeling so… I don’t know, weird (well I’m always weird…), desolate, emo and all that crap the past few weeks. In philosophy, I’ve learned that desorbitation causes these kinds of feelings and I think I am experiencing desorbitation. It’s the loss of not of something, but of SOMEPLACE, of the WHOLE thing/being actually. I mean think about it. If you lost for example a car key, you’d definitely be able to find it, because it’s tangible and all. But what if you *knock on wood* failed the biggest exam that would determine your future? What did you lose really? The test score? The feeling? What? You’ve probably lost the reason for living or something. Well… I think I’ve lost something… I’m just not sure on what.

For this post, I’m going to keep it short and let you guys do the talking. A friend of mine asked this question recently….

“If money wasn’t an issue, nor expectations from peers and family, what would your job be? What do you want do?”

Well I’d answer: founder of a wildlife preserve in Africa, South America and maybe China. I’d want to help in the environment. I’d also want to be a food taster, be in broadway, be a voice actress. How about you guys?

Wizarding World of Harry Potter FINALLY OPENS TO THE PUBLIC!

Even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan, you must at least be excited for the fact now you can go in castles, DRINK BUTTERBEER (this will be the first thing I’ll do), ride dragons, ride broomsticks, go to Zonko’s joke shop, candy shop and I’m sure a WHOLE LOADS MORE after a few years of more construction and renovation. Good thing I’ll probably be able to go there after uh.. 5 years? Well that’s an estimate anyway and it could change but I gotta save meself some money first!

The cast of Harry Potter were there on the grand opening and it was simply magical! It’s best to check out the videos here and just be WOW-ED!

Does anybody plan to go there anytime soon this year? All I can say is that good luck with the early LINES (and to think that picture was cut, making the line even LONGER)!! I wish there was a floo powder system too or at least even a broomstick system! Too bad there’s no technology for that yet XD

I’VE FINALLY WATCHED FRIGGING TOY STORY 3!
I’m a Pixar baby through and through and I can recite all the films in chronological order and even directors to what films and also some trivia about them though I’ve still got a LOT to learn. So watching Toy Story is a treat! Toy Story isn’t exactly my favorite Disney or Pixar film but as a franchise, it’s the best there is! Check out the rottentomatoes link above and you’ll see all 3 Toy Storys with 100% rating each (except for Toy Story 3 at 99% because some douchebags “critics – 2 of them actually – like Armond White gave it a rotten rating. I swear that guy is insane because he also rottened Up, An Education while freshed Jonah Hex and then compared Transformers 2 to Toy Story 3…. you get the idea of my hate) and they frigging DESERVE IT. Toy Story 3 was such a compelling and moving film. I didn’t know that a franchise could build up to become better and better. We didn’t get this feeling watching Star Wars. Heck we didn’t even get this feeling in 99% of the trilogies (well am biased to my Lord of the Rings fandom so I say it’s equal to that) but Toy Story stands out.

Its marketing strategy calls it the GREAT ESCAPE but it’s more than that. It’s about moving on, dealing with friendship, growing up, making more friends and living on. It incorporates good humor and some slapstick comedy too but that’s what adds the charm to it. It was just too bad that some new toys were only given a few screen time. I would have loved to know more about the toys in Sunnydale. Ken and Barbie are HILARIOUS and you’ll be missing a few characters too.

All I can say is that you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I had super high expectations from this and again Pixar has exceeded the bar they set up. Unlike The Karate Kid remake (Kung Fu Kid) which was also awesome, I had super low expectations so going over the bar was of no problem. But Toy Story is another class of its own. There are flaws, some things that you may not like but that’s probably only 0.001% of the film. Mr. Potato Head by the way creates one of the most hilarious moments in CINEMA HISTORY. Okay that’s pushing it but it’s just me. I’d watch this film again and again.

OH!! 3D does nothing for it by the way. I suggest watching it in 2D where you can watch in peace. Watch Step Up 3 in 3D but NOT TOY STORY 3. Save yourselves some few bucks. The trailers had more use of 3D. And Woody and Buzz will be appearing in a short right before Cars 2 next year! We’ll still see them!

I don’t even want to comment about this anymore. I really don’t know what to expect. I remember watching smurfs and playing it on the video game and I can’t imagine them having a plot where they actually go to the REAL WORLD. And it doesn’t help that Neil Patrick Harris will be voicing one of the leads. How about you guys? What are your thoughts? I’m just… uh another popcorn flick?

Have you guys watched Katy Perry’s California Gurls official music video? It’s… um.. unusual and doesn’t really portray California (just a lot of girls and skin XD) at all but you’re in Candyland. So is that a metaphor of California? O_O Howell.

I definitely loved this parody video better though because maybe… I’m a nerd, a geek (am not sure if dork is the right term for the people he’s mentioning in the video) or whatever so it’s definitely a music video you can “get”. haha! Anyway I really liked it! I’d love to make a parody of something too.

I’ve really disregarded my blogging friends… I’ve let you all down for not visiting you guys… I AM SO SORRY!!! I am really forced to take a hiatus because I am in a major PICKLE RIGHT NOW! No make that, I’m in a HUGE WATERMELON RIGHT NOW (or gourd or whatever big fruit you can think of). I’ve got only a month and a half left of school and I’m hanging by a thread in the dean’s list this semester because it’s so darn hard. I don’t want to talk about academics anymore and I don’t really want a hiatus. So now am not sure what to post about either because my mind is such a mess. I want to share a lot of things though… maybe I’ll just treat this month and a half as tumblr posts. I’ll only post little snippets and blog posts but I won’t be able to return comments at once. Maybe I’ll reply in a week or two so please forgive me!

Maybe I’ll just talk about my very unique birthday last week. I celebrated the night before with my best friends and then I was left alone inside the house. My mother went to Cebu to attend a dog show, my dad went to Baguio because of a meeting so there they actually gave me freedom on my 20th birthday. To tell you the truth, it wasn’t much fun really because I really was alone so i woke up to my birthday alone. Maybe it’s a foreshadowing and a preparation because I will be leaving my family for 4 months and this will give me courage and independence. I was glad that I had 5 doggies with me in the room though. I then attended my organization’s formation seminar and actually is the first time I really went out with people aside from my family on my birthday. I didn’t want a fuss so I was uncomfortable spending it with friends because I was used to spending my birthday with my family (my birthday usually doesn’t coincide with school classes so there :D). But this was a new experience, it was fun to be around people! I was actually piggy-backed for almost 5 MINUTES! man I won’t explain why but all I can say, it hurt for the both of us XD (guy carrying me and myself XD)

I’m so glad too that our balikbayan box from the US (it took 45 days of shipping time!) finally arrived! I got my Sandman#8-10 and Fables#1-3 graphic novels and I really can’t wait to read them all!! hahahaa Other stuffs were bought by mum and her friends so shipping fee wasn’t that expensive.

OH AND I FORGOT! I finally have pictures of my netbook with the gelaskins I ordered! I’ll be selling the other two. XD hahaa I do need money for my France trip!

To those who read my PHILIPPINE ELECTIONS 2010: Food For Thought post, thank you very much! I’d appreciate it if you guys still read it, TOMORROW IS FINALLY THE ELECTIONS! For those undecided, you still have a few hours until you decide. Research well!

And for those asking if I bought the insanely expensive Rosetta Stone, think carefully when I said *cough cough**pirated** cough cough*. It’s not exactly a good thing but I can’t afford the original one T_T Sighs… If I only had money, everything I own would be original but no can do…

Okay so that was initially the introduction of my “latest entry” but I backed out and I went on hiatus and I’ll be actually going on another hiatus next week because of long exams and midterms. This semester is darn hard and I am trying to really fix it up. I’m so glad History 165 (Philippine History) is over because it’s the subject that tortured my soul out during summer class. It ate up all my free time and urgh, I’m just so happy that everything’s over and done with. I’m so glad that I actually edited a video again and it came out pretty good. That video saved me from my quizzes. Was able to scrape a B+ but an A would have been good… Should have done better in my midterms darn!

Now my only problems are Philosophy (it’s actually my favorite subject now despite all the headaches I’m getting from it. It really opens you up to a new way of thinking. I’d recommend anybody to take it up if it’s not in your core curriculum. Just get a good professor, one of the most important parts in class-picking XD), Software Engineering and Computer Organization. Computer Organization is kinda darn difficult but hopefully I’d manage!

I didn’t make an outline or list-of-things-to-blog-about again for this post so pardon me if my post is all over the place. xD I’m so grateful that you guys are really still visiting especially hello to my new blogger pals! I’ve been getting an alarmingly amount of AD-SPAM comments. Have you ever gotten those comments that suddenly talk about home loans or anything? Sorry those who try to advertise on my blog by COMMENTING, it’s just so weird to be getting those… I delete them right away XD

So I’ve had more free time this week so I was able to finish a new series (and it’s my new love, way better than Glee in my opinion :P) called Community. It’s about this lawyer who has to retake a 4-year college degree because of some problems with his previous degree so he decided to take the easy way out by attending the Community College of his friend, a psychology professor, but after trying to woo the first hot girl he sees, he suddenly “forms” a study group and then all hell breaks loose! This show introduces a new favorite character of mine who I’d like to call the next “Sheldon”. If you watch The Big Bang Theory then Abed of Community will definitely remind you of him but in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MANNER. Watch below if you want to watch a preview! I swear you have to watch this!

It’s so sad that most series have already released their season finale this week It’s so darn sad especially when it’s summer here and then you’d have to wait for a long time (November right?) for a new season. Darn! Good thing am now starting with True Blood and Flash Forward. Maybe finish the seasons of House and Ugly Betty too once I have enough time. Howell….

I’ve progressed a lot with my project 50 leaves and I’ve read 12 books already! WOOT! (okay so 4 of them are graphic novels… XD it’s still a form of a book :D) Am now reading my 13th one and hopefully I can finish it this weekend OR next next week Anybody with a Shelfari account? Add me pls? My project filmography is down in the dumps though.. I haven’t watched a movie in a while…

I FINALLY BOUGHT A NETBOOK GUYS!! Remember my predicament in the past regarding netbooks and how I wanted to so much for a Disney netbook? Well it never happened but I was able to get an ASUS Eee PC 1005HA for just 14,500php!! Woot! Upgraded memory (RAM) and all so it’s just 16,500php. A bargain if I should say since most netbooks here start at 19,000 I even bought Gelaskins for my netbook (still has no name ) and got 1 free since my friend and I availed the buy 3 get 1 free promo. Haha Will share it all once it arrives

My birthday’s coming up next week and I’m just not feeling it again. I’m going to our organization’s formsem (a weekend activity to get to know the new executive board and managers) on my birthday and I just don’t want to go to any activities on my birthday… I don’t like big celebrations since I’m more of a solitary person and I just want to celebrate it with either family or close friends. This is the reason why I chose to not tell my blockmates that it was my birthday on our first meeting (in our freshman’s orientation activity). XD What can I say, I’m a boring person and I don’t want people to fuss XD

Yey am so glad that everyone enjoyed the egg house in the last post! You guys are awesome you know? For telling me it’s okay to update only once a week or when I only feel like it… but I do have this urge of blogging every after 4 days and it pains me I can’t do it. I’ve now got a midterm and long exam next week and I really can’t wait until History (Philippine History & Rizal) IS OVER! It’s ruining my life!

I’ve been studiously learning French with Rosetta Stone *cough cough* and I just bought Berlitz’s Phrase Book and Dictionary as my friend Cheryl suggested. I would really recommend it because it has tips on pronunciation and categorized in particular situations such as shopping etc! Rosetta Stone is AWESOME too because it’s really VERY INTERACTIVE. Heck they don’t even have translations! They’ll only show pictures and their corresponding French word and now it’s up to you to remember and associate them. Rosetta Stone aims to boost your intuition and I’d recommend it for ANY LANGUAGE. I’m planning to get *cough cough* one for Spanish, Korean and Japanese again sometime. Maybe German too.

Again nothing is going on with my life except my friends and I just ate a GODZILLA BURRITO (it was around 2.5kg!!) and we finally watched IRONMAN 2!! *Robert Downey Jr. HOTNESS!! Scarlett Johansson HOTNESS ZOMG!!!* I just fainted I think.... XD Ironman 2 ROCKED the whole theatre but... I don't know... I felt something missing... but RDJ DID SUPERB AS USUAL ahahhaa!!

Nothing happened again this week… I mean we just built a paper tower during Software Engineering class (it’s for team building! Our prof says! and it patterns the management system of projects and stuff) and I found this idea on the net of using the accordion style for great balance but it was very vulnerable to the wind. Good thing it rained and we built in down the steps so that we’d escape the harsh winds! Man did you know that that day was probably the first time it rained after weeks of drought? GAWD!

Okay I was KIDDING there. But if you didn’t watch the video, then you’d have no idea what I’m talking about. I would really like to tackle culture and environment and money in today’s post. It’s about time to have another one of those posts with tips to help you guys save money. Usually all I post all about the environment and maybe you’ve all read my food rant in the previous posts so now i’ll take a different direction and head on to the other green thing we’re all obsessed about. We need help and sometimes even professional help when dealing with money because face it, it’s the thing that makes the world go round. Throw in a little love but basically it’s the green stuff that ALMOST DETERMINES EVERYTHING. So I’m going to help you guys save a little with this tip

Tip for the day would be… TO CHANGE FONTS WHEN PRINTING. Yes you, dear reader shouldn’t be too ink-happy when printing because not only will it save you ink, it would probably be able to help you save a few dollah dollah bills too since ink is REALLY EXPENSIVE. So according to yahoo news,

The school of 6,500 students spends about $100,000 per year on ink and toner cartridges. Although students and staff can change the default font to something more ink-intensive, Blohowiak said the university expects to save $5,000 to $10,000 per year with the font switch.

When Printer.com tested popular fonts for their ink-friendly ways, Century Gothic and Times New Roman topped the list. Calibri, Verdana, Arial and Sans Serif were next, followed by Trebuchet, Tahoma and Franklin Gothic Medium. Century Gothic uses about 30 percent less ink than Arial.

The amount of ink a font drains is mainly driven by the thickness of its lines. A font with “narrow” or “light” in its name is usually better than its “bold” or “black” counterpart, said Thom Brown, an ink researcher at Hewlett-Packard Co., the world’s top maker of printers.

Also, serif fonts — those with short horizontal lines at the top and bottom of characters — tend to use thinner lines and thus less ink than a “sans serif” counterpart.

NOTE READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll completely save the environment because it’s really the number of paper we try to save that really counts.

As for culture, I’ve found this nifty video that talks about Japan. For me this isn’t really racist though the video does make use of humor and exaggeration to explain its point, and that’s the strangeness and wonder of Japan. This video is made by a Japanese so I guess it’s really not racist. I was just very amused and it’ll take 10 minutes of your life but it’s a good 10 minutes. Kudos to the guy who made this! Graphics are awesome!

I also love exploring old houses and museums (I just went to the Ayala Museum and it’s AWESOME! over 1000 gold pieces of our ancestors and they have an awesome diorama of the WHOLE history of the Philippines (around 2000 years ago? kinda forgot)) and I came from my childhood home, my grandparents’ house, yesterday and found A SHOCKING FIND!! My grandparents’ actually have a collection of the writings of GREAT MASTERS OF LITERATURE AND PHILOSOPHY OUT THERE! Man they probably had this collection around the 1960s. I always knew that there was a set of books on top of that shelf as a kid but I didn’t bother looking at it until now XD

This will be EXTREMELY useful for my philosophy and maybe theology classes because heck, we even have the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine! I didn’t even need to go buy books of Shakespeare because I had them all in 2 books. Plus reading Plutarch would have been great for my Western History class. Man… the things you find… I took pics of my grandparents’ house too but I didn’t want to upload them… maybe next time hhehehee

We celebrated his graduation yesterday at Balducci’s (i think that’s the name XD) located at Serendra (awesome food place here in the Philippines! If you ever go to Manila, do go here!) and the food was awesome! Since am still on my diet, I ordered grilled prawns and the food was delish! Though I liked Chelsea’s better.

By the way here’s a picture of me and my bro at his graduation. I can’t believe we were late and didn’t see him go up the stage!! Blame family business, darn, some people just HAD to drop by our house at 4:30pm urgh. But howell, we’ll see it on video anyway and plus my gash ADMU, why hold graduation in the covered courts? Sighs… I hope my graduation will be held in someplace cool! I saw Chris Tiu too by the way! XD (famous basketball player here)

- VOTE WISELY. Don’t vote for someone who’s ALREADY LOST OUT TRUST
- VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T CAPITALIZE ON THE POOR
- RESEARCH INFORMATION REGARDING EACH CANDIDATE. Know their mistakes, their achievements. Make sure that they HAVE DONE SOMETHING IN THEIR LIVES
- JUDGE THEM AS AN INDIVIDUAL PERSON. Not based on their family background. Not based on their parents’ achievements
- Take note: CORRUPTION CANNOT BE DISPLACED BY ONE PERSON ALONE. So if someone promises to take away corruption, let him put up surveillance cameras in EVERY POLITICIANS’ HOMES. Of course that will never happen so you CAN’T.

Anyway I won’t turn this into a politics post, I dislike politics anyway.

I’m encouraging EVERYONE to join this forum of Georgina’s and Tiffany’s because… it’s simply an awesome place filled with plenty of awesome people. Everyone is so nice and approachable. So today, I’m going to concentrate on food! Yes, oh that stuff that everyone loves? They come in all shapes, colors and sizes and it’s essential for every human being (who wants to live anyway) and it’s a fun delicious subject! But what are your thoughts on THE GOLDEN ARCHES?? The catalyst for what we know as FASTFOOD?

After watching this year’s Ho-hum oscars, the Best Documentary and Best Shorts caught my eye especially this nominated best documentary film of Robert Kenner called FOOD INC. I did wonder, where the heck does our food come from? How on earth do we feed 6 billion people EVERYDAY?? That’s about killing millions of cows, chickens EVERYDAY. How the heck do we keep up? Well food inc especially explores that in American society. Even tough I’m not American, I can feel the filmakers’ anger, the LIES that you guys have been presented. And I sure hope that it isn’t done in the Philippines (because I don’t think our country is capable of such big factories, I may be wrong) or any other place. It’s just sad to see the HORRORS that happen behind their food industry. It’s so scary… this is why I think that I’m going to STOP EATING FASTFOOD altogether. This will be a big deal for me because I LOVE FOOD. Heck I’m a burger-pizza person too. I eat just about anything but after watching the film, I can’t help stop to think too. I’m also on this diet (actually it’s just, eat less, eat only 3x a day, absolutely NO SUGAR/JUNKFOOD and more fruits) so I don’t eat as much junk anymore and it’s going well. Lost 3 pounds and lost about 1 inc of my waist Took 3 weeks!

Well anyway, I want to stop eating fastfood and God help me. This film also inspired me to pursue my dream of building a farm too. The food industry is one that will STAY FOREVER. I promise you that. It’s not like fashion where style changes every season but food will always be here and farms are ALWAYS needed. I want to have my own farm, a good farm using traditional style of breeding and planting. And maybe add some principles on vermiculture (I blogged about it here regarding fattening up the soil with nutrients with the help of earthworms). I want to help change the world at least with one footprint of mine. I too am inspired to make a documentary, it’s so… meaningful and exciting! Let’s just see what happens. Hope that it stays.

I’m now officially on SUMMER BREAK because I just had my last finals of my sophomore year (crap, I’m NOW A JUNIOR!) and I’m soo happy that we finally got this needed break after the headaches, arguments, frustrations and everything this past week. I swear I thought I was going to get sick because of the pressure but everything went well including our computer project defense! Only thing that let me down was the Science 10 finals because it was soo darn hard! But I’ve really grown to appreciate science because of it. I mean now I can appreciate this article, you know, the world’s probably ONLY IMMORTAL BEING ON EARTH??

It’s amazing that there actually is an immortal being here. AWESOME!!

When I started blogging, I knew that it would be my creative outlet, my information outlet of some sorts and not one drop of my personal wailing well would drip into my blog. I’ve broken this a few times but it would always be vague and ambiguous. Even in real life I don’t want to discuss my problems. I just retreat off into my own corner and just think and discern. Somehow it has always been that way *therefore talking to self is very normal for me. VERY.* Maybe I’d let it drip….ambiguously today XD

Hope you all had a fun Valentines and Chinese New Year! I’d been feeling down for the past week and then add to that what happened on Sunday. I swear I’ve got some family issues and now I understand how you can never fully judge a person. Hypothetically speaking, a kid is deprived of attention and gets beaten up by his dad constantly and physically abuses him. Kid grows up, gets a family but what does he do to his kid? He’ll probably still act childish and wouldn’t be a normal dad to his children thus making his children go “WHAT THE F– is wrong with my dad?” Why is my aunt so whacked out and keeps nagging at me? Somehow her past must have affected her too. The external factors and familial factors cannot be disregarded when observing a person’s whole attitude and outlook.

I learned this the hard way. I thought it was only my paternal side that’s whacked out, but what, even my maternal side of the family? I thought that they were my only hope of saying, hey my family’s kinda normal too. BUT NO. When I found out about… some things… I almost had a migraine and my heart probably turned darker. I don’t know. I felt so down… in Filipino, ang bigat talaga ng loob ko. I’m still feeling the after effects and I instead of staying for our Chinese org’s celebration on Monday, I needed to go home and think. I was feeling depressed and I still feel that way. But I know that I have to concentrate on living. Yes… I need to live. Sorry if I’ve been a pain in twitter and plurk lately

Coincidentally, I have made a draft of my new entry (this one) last week around Friday and guess what the topic is?

I’m going to share the Movies That Made Me Cry XD How… coincidental and good my timing was XD But take note, I don’t cry easily, I didn’t even cry last Sunday or the past few days. It takes extreemee cases to make me cry so having a movie make me cry is something for me. This is inspired by The Movie Blog when the editor posted his own.

Up
- I’d been hearing very good things about this movie last year and when I heard that Up was moved to August instead of the MAY 2009 SHOWING (same time as the US), I was enraged because I didn’t want to pirate this movie. It would be a disgrace to the awesome PIXAR team for wasting their hardwork and I really want to boost their sales and be a good customer. So I waited patiently and didn’t download despite my “pirating” reputation. And it was definitely worth the wait. I still wasn’t convinced that it would drag me emotionally but drag me it especially in the scene where only music played as we watched the beginning and ‘end’ of Carl and Ellie’s life. That scene tore my heart out. Plus the scene near the end where Carl was pinning the Ellie badge on Russel… I remembered how my parents were late and absent on my own scouting graduation… and my friend’s mum had to pin me instead. So there….

It’s a Wonderful Life
- This was probably my first 30s movie (or was that Gone With the Wind? XD) and again I’ve been seeing references in movies and books how people in America upheld the tradition of watching It’s A Wonderful Life every Christmas Eve (am not sure if this applies to all Americans, I think they don’t do this anymore?) and I being a curious being wanted to see what the hulabaloo was about. Again it was the life story of George Bailey that had me bawling. His dreams and hopes were shattered when responsibility took over and he had to sacrifice everything. But he did have something good, which is love (really cheesy but come on, he had a perfect wife with Mary!) and in the end, he realizes that he was indeed the richest man in town. After watching the movie, you’d think, would I ever become a George Bailey? Would I too affect that many lives and be someone in my community? It makes me feel sad that I don’t think I’ll ever get the same recognition as he did…

Return of the King
- I think I also cried in Fellowship but I’m not sure… so I’ll just put return here. Everything must come to and end someday and we’d be parting ways with our friends and loved ones and family. This is what I felt at the end of the movie was Frodo separates with his friends and goes off to the unknown. Now you’d really know that the trilogy is over. This AMAZING EPIC was actually coming to and end. The last part made me want to learn more and to know more about everything about Lord of the Rings.
But it will never come back… it’s finally the end.

Life is Beautiful
- Seeing a father’s love for his child and goes to the lengths of making jokes and having fun for his son INSIDE A NAZI CAMP is just… amazing. People probably just rotted and accepted their fate but this dad… he knew that he wanted his son to live. The ending did it for me. What love really!

Princess & The Frog
- I cried over the fact that Disney returned to 2D. That this could be probably up with the greats such as Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, etc. It wasn’t but it had a charm of its own! I cried at the part that fairy tales do seem to come true in their world. But now I know guys, happily ever after doesn’t come after marriage. It’s a WHOLE PROCESS that you need to maintain THROUGHOUT YOUR WHOLE LIFE. Don’t think that snagging a man would mean it’s over, everything is okay. HELL NO. I cried because the story was beautiful and how beautiful the song Evangeline was and to see that they finally KNEW what the NEEDED.

Toy Story 2
- Sarah Mclahlan’s song When She Loved Me made me burst into tears. Plus the scene of Jessie being abandoned…. the feeling of someone close to you… abandoning you and just forgetting EVERYTHING that you two did together. That’s heartbreaking.

When Harry Met Sally
- The two main leads were SOOOOO blind to each other and I cried over the YEARS they spent finding it out. But it was worth it still in the end. It was just soo loong though! But you can never tell in real life… it is that hard…

Fox and the Hound
- The ending did it. You have to watch this!

I can’t think of anything else now. I can’t remember a rom-com movie that made me cry. And why this is mostly Disney’s work of making cry… I don’t know why. There are probably be more and maybe I’ll add more to this list next time.

This song automatically played in my mind when the Oscar nominations came out last February 3, 2010 and as tradition, I have to blog about it. I already posted the list here in Tidbits Movie Blog but I really can’t help but blog about it here too! I’m really into movies and I really hope to at least work at least once in my life related to movies or something This is why my dream too of going to Pixar is like hitting 2 birds with one stone… wait that’s cruel… hitting 2 targets with one stone. So wait where was I, oh yeah! This song played in my head because for the second time in FOREVER since the first Best Picture Oscar was given that an ANIMATED MOVIE WAS NOMINATED FOR A BEST PICTURE.

Yeah you guess it right, it’s UP!

Did you know that besides Up, only Beauty and The Beast was able to battle with the big boys back in 1991? What do you guys think? Because Beauty and the Beast didn’t win that year, the Academy then thought that animated films were actually doing a fantastic job so they made a different category called Best Animated Film. But guys, what do you think Best Picture means? Isn’t it suppose to be the film that did REALLY WELL regardless of medium used to make the film? What do you think? I personally believe that Up deserves to be at the top *though it won’t win, but it CAN* because it was one of the best films of 2009 and I think Pixar went ABOVE their standards again. So I want to hear your thoughts on the animated film controversy. Read this blog to find out more about it (did you know that for 8 years, animated films were the TOP critically acclaimed movies for their year?)

I do think that this year’s Oscar is going to be GREAT. I’ve been so blaahh-ed about the past few years because of various reasons such as the Oscar host wasn’t good, I didn’t like the Best Picture win or the nominees at all. This year has some very interesting battles especially the duel between the ex-couple, James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow. It is so funny to see these two neck in neck with 9 nominations each. I mean what would reaction be if you’re up against your husband or wife at some award? What should you feel? I think James Cameron would gladly give the award to his wife because his previous monster hit Titanic did win Best Pic already and now his current movie just HIT A BIGGER ICEBERG and broke all movie records. He’s a Box Office director no doubt! I am so excited to see how this turns out but I think Kathryn will get her awards I have yet to see Hurt Locker though, will watch it soon!

And then we have Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin as hosts! A TEAM UP! This is going to be so awesome because I believe these two have great chemistry. I have yet to see somebody top my favorite Oscar host, Billy Crystal!

And of course, 10 NOMINATIONS FOR BEST PIC. How the heck will they present them all? What would the hosts’ intro be? AND DISTRICT 9 WAS ACTUALLY NOMINATED!! I FRIGGING LOVED THAT MOVIE AND I’M SO HAPPY IT’S THERE.

Sorry for the all caps, I just love Oscar season even if some don’t *and I’m sorry if I’m boring you all* but I can’t feel anything but happiness. This actually cheered me up last Tuesday because I felt so down. Sniff. I feel like a kid in a candy store

So here are the four major categories of the Academy Awards. No bets yet until I watch them all! I have a month (March 3 – Oscar day) to watch them and a month to decide. I’m hoping Carey Mulligan for Best Actress! Did you know she played Kitty in Pride and Prejudice alongside Keira Knightly? I DIDN’T BAT AN EYE AT HER THEN BECAUSE SHE HAD SO FEW DIALOGUE. But when you watch An Education, WHOA she has grown so much!

VISUAL EXTRAVAGANZA IN THE PHILIPPINES XD

Was your New Year as loud as this in the Philippines? I swear I think I’ve gone DEAF-er *if that’s possible* but there was less fireworks and revelry. but wait.. it’s still a lot XD

I’ve had a rough and good time with 2009. So many firsts, so many letdowns and heartaches. It was a great mix of a year but somehow I feel that 2010 will be more memorable. It’s the year I finally (AND HOPEFULLY) will live abroad, leave my teen years (really, I’m just going to be 12 years old! XD), hopefully find a part of me somewhere and I don’t know what else. I hope for more opportunities. I feel like shattering into a million pieces because of this excitement in me. I want to just feel everything…

Okay a bit emotional here… But really I am so hopeful. I want a lot of things on my bucket list be fulfilled. I’ve joined again some projects and made some on my own. I’m so sorry guys for not visiting you lately, I’ve become sort of “unattached” again with the online world so even though I’m online, I’m doing something else and not exactly concentrating on my blog.
