Shocked aren’t you all? We were quite shocked too because she looked older than that! Hahaha. And sadly, no ZOMG vlog yet, I haven’t found the perfect time to do it. I’ll really try and post it next time! I still have a week of vacation left!

And I’ve been dreaming off adventures again, don’t you wish you can explore your country first before going anywhere? I’d love to explore the whole Philippines first because really, there’s SO MUCH TO SEE! Being in the city all the time sucks and I still want to get away from it all. I’ve only been to Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Quezon, Batangas, Tagaytay, Baguio, Pampanga. Everything is in Luzon! I need to go south and see Cebu, Davao, Mindoro, Iloilo, and of course… PALAWAN! I’ve even been searching online for flight rates and all. It’s not that expensive (for locals) but if you include the hotel accomodation, the works, it’s DARN EXPENSIVE! So how about let’s be girl scouts and boy scouts and just put up a tent? XD hhahahaa! XD I really really want to go to Palawan someday! *thank you google for the pics!*

I do miss family vacations, it’s been a long time since my family went abroad. Last time it was only me and my brother and grandmother who went to visit my uncle in Shanghai. And now with dad’s gout acting up, it’s even more unlikely Do you guys have any relatives or friends with gout? Do you know any treatment of it? Dang I do wish I won’t get it when I grow old. It ain’t pretty…

Okay let’s go to HARRY POTTER NEWS ZOMG!!! If you guys live in the states and you watch Ellen’s show, then you must have heard of her offer to two SUPER HARRY POTTER FANS a chance to go to Florida and take the first sneak peek to THE HARRY POTTER THEME PARK! I’ve been going crazy over this and crying when I heard it in twitter because I’m not a US citizen so… I can’t participate. And then Ellen chooses these 2 cutest little kids to go with her! I found it so funny when she asked the kids, “How’d you like that?” and then a cut scene sound XD Man they must have not perfected butter beer yet because it is supposed to be awesome! I really have imagined how butterbeer will taste like. Blame me and my Harry Potter fandom XD

My fingers are itching to press the CHECKOUT CART button in online stores because I’m having this shopping cravings again! Now it’s for The Sandman, cute panda stuffs and BB creams maybe. I’ve bought this cute panda mug from Gel already and I’m wishing that my friend in Korea can bring me home some Sandman novels (in Amazon.com, they have it for 13++$ but in Korea, ONLY 9-10$!! WHOOT!! Every little dollar saved counts Call me little miss stingy!). Now for BB creams.. i have to think about it… but man! I must remember to save up for my netbook and my junior term abroad! Must must SAVEEE!!

As promised, SHOUT OUTS to Nadine for guessing the right age (6 years old!! Actually I was 5.9 years old, we went to US for the whole month of May back in 1996) and Szarina (pls visit her, she’s Stephie’s little sister and she just revived her blog! She got the place right, Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, Florida) and Beng (i am the kid in the middle at the front row XD was with my dad and bro! XD)

Story regarding the prisoner letter if anybody is interested ▼

Finally finally my package from Threadless has arrived last week! It took almost 2 months for it to ship. Reckon it was stuck in customs? So weird, because the panda hat I bought later also from the US came before these 2 shirts.

What you think about the shirts? I wanted this one but it is STILL OUT OF STOCK. Bummer !

I do want to promote their shirt for Haiti. I know I haven’t talked about Haiti and I feel quite guilty because I was all out for Ondoy. I tried to help though. I donated to Phil Red Cross for their Haiti relief operations and I’m still spreading the news on twitter and facebook. I really can’t imagine how Haiti is coping. They are less fortunate than us Philippines and have fewer resources so I am quite concerned with their manpower. And I’ve been hearing about the violence that they experiencing. An earthquake is quite different from the flood because buildings collapsed here. More damage has been done. People in Haiti must really be frightened. If I only can go there, I would to! If any brave soul with the capability to go there, please do try since airline tickets have dropped for easy access to Haiti. I will still keep on praying for them… oh here’s their shirt by the way!

I also received Sis Tricia’s package OMG WHOOT!! MY VERY FIRST CONTACT LENS! She even gave me a small pouch and a keychain from Singapore! h thank you sis!! So happy! your letter! I still haven't successfully put the contacts. It's soo dang hard. XD I will definitely post a pic once I am able to do it. I'll try it later in the evening. I'll need some help XD haha!!

Now to the gist of the post! I’ve been really wanting to talk about how innovation is affecting our lives. I’ve been enjoying the past few classes of PS140 Electronics and it is WEIRD for me because I normally scrunch my face when I hear of electronics because I just don’t understand it at times. But good thing Sir showed us how cool electronics is and how technology is changing. He introduced us to TED and in their site I quote,

TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with the annual TED Conference in Long Beach, California, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK, TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Program, the new TEDx community program, this year’s TEDIndia Conference and the annual TED Prize.

People in TED hold a lot of conferences and forums and if you just watch some of them, you’d be amazed how man has traveled so far and how going to the moon now is just a cinch. I mean imagine a world like the one in Ironman, where Tony Stark is just manipulating and staring at an invisible screen but yet he is able to move windows, resize them and input calculations. It’s awesome isn’t it? I was actually able to watch the video where I saw this almost happening. You can take pictures WITH JUST YOUR FINGERS. Get information of a book from Amazon by just screening the pages/title cover. AMAZING. Are you ready to watch this SIXTH SENSE?

But I realized… if this device can just point at a person’s face and identify him immediately, isn’t it… a bit stalker-ish? This device gives a whole lot of knowledge and in our society today, KNOWLEDGE is INDEED POWER. It’s crazy and scary at the same time how technology is advancing so quickly. I really do think that the movie I Robot may actually be possible now.

For me, technology shouldn’t be selfish. This device is a bit selfish in a sense that you want everything at once and anything. If you invent something that saves lives, then that’s something really marvelous. My favorite innovation that sir showed us was the lifesaver bottle. He was inspired by Hurricane Katrina when he saw that after the devastation, people were cloistered and were getting sick everywhere. Access to food and most importantly water is almost non-existent. People were still dying. Michael Pritchard then researched and after a few prototypes (you can just imagine how many times he must have gotten sick himself), he was able to invent a water bottle that even if you put the MOST POLLUTED RIVER WATER (case in point: pasig river or yangtze river), you’d be able to filter out DRINKING WATER.

Again. AMAZING.

Did you know that the size of a bacteria/virus is 25 NANOMETERS and the size of the pores of the filtering systems of our water filtering centers is around A MICRON? Food for thought. GET THIS, they actually have a website already *just saw it, silly me XD* HELP HAITI BY DONATING 25$ and give them a water bottle! Pls go this site for more information.

I can’t believe I haven’t seen these water bottles before, I really want to invest in this and bring it here in the Philippines. GOSH REALLY AMAZING.

And more doggie news! I went to my mum’s friend’s place (the on you know, who I talked about had a pool just for her doggies?) but too bad I didn’t see the oldie golden retrievers swimming about! XD Good thing Tita (aunt in Filipino, you call your mum’s friends aunt too :D) was able to capture these moments!

Ever since my alarm clock broke… well i haven’t had anything to wake me up except mum’s screams. XD And am lusting over this. T_T It’s soo cool and it’s an ipod speaker to boot! Anybody wanna give this as an advance birthday present? haha it’d be good when I go to Junior Term Abroad too! Oh yeah, which brings me that the list of schools being offered will be released NEXT WEEK! It’s finally happening!

Okay I’m just blabbering here XD Well just to share some trivia, a while back in grade 6, my friend and I considered ourselves as vampires already because of the late nights we’ve had spent on studying. My friend was even worse because she SLEPT first and then woke up at around 1am to do her assignments. So yeah, we consider ourselves as vampires back then. It didn’t help that I had long-ish and sharp upper canines and that I loved to bite… okay never mind. Too much info!

BUT WHY VAMP DIAIRIES? – not about the twilight promise – CLICK ME ▼

I just wanted to feature my project 365, and also my desire to watch the TV series, because this little exercise has become some sort of a diary for me already. It’s a way to explore photography (no matter how suck I can be, I hope there is room for improvement :D) and also to look back on the day as what I did. Unlike a real diary, deep feelings aren’t expressed but at least you were able to review what happened right? This way, little ‘ol forgetful me would be able to answer some questions at the end of 2010. Was it a good year? Which day was the most horrible? The happiest? The nuttiest?

Well here in the Philippines, our presidentiables love to make jingles and weird gimmicks such as Manny Villar. It would have been if it wasn’t FILLED WITH LIES. It’s okay to say some of those but come on, THE REAL POOR? And using these kids… really really now that’s not right. Not right at all. What are your thoughts? I’m sure that most of my Filipino friends know this song and must hate me for mentioning it. This song has been stuck in my head FOR WEEKS ALREADY. Maybe there’s a subliminal message when we play the song backwards. Creepy.

OH AND OMG!! Remember my BLOGGER’S CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE project? I finally received my package from DANIELLA!! I am so happy because she gave me a PANDA EARRINGS HOLDER. Panda + something I really needed is just AWESOME!! I can’t believe that you took the time to look at my wish list and find something better than what I was asking for *hugz* And the LETTER IS AWESOME! hahaa and also I’ve never had these Hershey’s chocolate M&M’s thingies and Runt’s candies and that… other candy shaped like a feeding bottle, I LOVE THEM DANIELLA!! *hugz* haha!

It’s that time of the year again when I, along with a few other people, would say the exact same words…. I have become BUSY ONCE AGAIN! And this time I’m not joking. I used to joke around and be like some pretentious fool *thus the title, I chose Porpoises because I’ve always wanted to say that, and include that in some story of mine. Porpoises is such a unique name! :D* and say I’m busy so sorry for not updating for a long time. In reality, I’m just being a lazy git but now I’m serious, think JOKER serious *okay what an oxymoron* and I am swamped with org activities, school activities and personal life. I’ve noticed I’ve been neglecting my doggies and I need to spend some time with them including training our african gray parrot Buffy to say weird things (he knows how to say my name, good morning, bark, ohayou, okaeri and loads already!), shower Fuzzy with affection and our 10+ dogs so it’s quite a task too.

I even had one day off from the internet and it was quite a relief to know that I can survive without the net for a few days. I’m even betting my friend that I can stay out of the online world for a month if I want to. I do love the great outdoors and I won’t be bored because I have my books (my first love) to help me cure boredom. But i think the consequence would be the amount of unread email T_T. I received about 100 unread e-mails on that day alone so acckk it isn’t easy to let go too.

So what I’m really saying is I’m sorry I won’t be updating that often or bloghop everyday (I bloghop using Bloglovin, my blog reader. Check it out, it’s very useful!) like I used to. I will still keep in touch with twitter mates and plurkmates and of course Tumblr is there. But I don’t visit it as much either. Well life goes on…

Enough about the sad part, let’s talk about some things! I made my first LOLZ Cat last week! I was so excited in showcasing this golden retriever puppy that we’re selling for a friend, that I took a picture that was worthy of a LOLZ Cat and I CAN HAZ pose! I need some help… I’ve already unveiled my wish list in my bucket list and I can’t help thinking of getting the Boshi Basiik hat myself (unless a kind soul would want to give me? haha!) because their summer sale is almost ending. But stingy me is telling self, “what the heck are you going to do with this hat anyway? It won’t actually protect you from any ‘snow’ or cold weather so it’ll just be stuck at home”. I’ve been literally staring at their site for 3 years, debating again and again with the pros and cons of these hats. *Why are they just so dang expensive??* Well I need help, do you think it’s worth it? I’ll be deciding in 3 days (their summer sale ends next week), if anybody wants to buy it with me or buy another hat, let’s do it in one order so that we’ll save shipping fees. Phew! I was thinking hard of what animals that start with letter F because there are so many wonderful animals that start with letter F! Imagine you have fireflies, foals, foxes, etc but I settled on flamingos because they are such lovely creatures. Plus I wanna say hi to my friend Meredith! haha She’s just the most avid fan of flamingos.

I have finally opened my MINI BLOG AWARDS: DESIGNER PANDA! It’s I think a very awesomer award where you people, can design your very own panda! I’ll be giving both shirts *blognerd and geek shirt* to the Winner PLUS A BEAUTIFUL Illustration from Dayna who is such an AWESOME designer! Promise, you’ll love her illustration. So please do join! I remember that some of you have hinted interest in this!

Tricia and I have proposed THE BLOGGERS’ CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE PROJECT! Bloggers all over the world may join in and send letters/gifts to one other blogger that you will choose based on their codenames! Just sign up here and include a codename that has totally no relation to your site or real name. Around first week of December, we will be releasing the complete list of members (using codenames). We have decided that 5$ would be the minimum amount for a Christmas gift.

Only two more days until second semester starts and I’m frankly not excited about it. I’ll probably toss and turn in bed on Sunday night because of this anxiety. I feel like my sembreak wasn’t fulfilling or anything. But I did have a lot of fun though. Could have been loads better. First off I was able to get in La Salle (another university here in Manila that has FRIGGING STRICT RULES FOR VISITORS) along with my best buds last Nov. 5! Too bad Chair couldn’t go I think my friends are even blacklisted now, because our “museum excuse” didn’t cut out for it because instead of staying for only 40 minutes, we stayed there for over an hour! Oopsie… Going home was exciting too because Daynee and I had to take the MRT, alas again the klutzy ol’ me was almost crushed by the MRT doors AGAIN. I was first “almost crushed” by LRT 1′s train doors so I only need to be crushed in LRT 2 then I would have a collection of klutzy memories! Woe is me! The MRT doors were hard to push open though and force myself inside as the train was moving… really why do trains like leaving me?

Had fun yesterday too! I got FREE ATENEO LIMITED EDITION SMART BROADBAND USB! They were giving them away to the first 300 students who were able to register and validate their IDs. Even before this, I so wanted a broadband USB so I could be online ANYWHERE as long as I have a laptop and then this free ad caught me eye! Man it took a long process though! Unfortunately forgetful-me forgot to bring a celphone so I had to find a Smart (one of our telecommunication giants here) sim card and a phone to boot so I’d be able to register. Good thing they were giving out free sim cards too! And this is what I got!

The met up with the foreign exchange students at our school so that we could orient and tour them around! I’m a member of the student exchange council of our school and we got to get buddies! I was paired with Choi and also Jessica (both from Korea) because my first buddy wasn’t there (Austrian). Got to mingle with thee German dudes, 2 French dudettes, 2 Chinese dudettes, and the Spanish lot! XD haha The Spanish lot were soo funny! Too bad can’t go to their party today Aww man. Am excited to meet them around campus in 2nd semester! I’m so stupid for forgetting to take a picture with them. *smacks head* :wah howell

The DESIGNER PANDA is the title that will go to the blogger with the MOST CREATIVE AND UNIQUE Panda character design. The concept of this contest is to create a whole new character [panda] with its own look and personality through various forms of artworks. I hope that this will generate fun and creativity within the blogging community!

Mechanics:
Designers must send their artworks to jynxedpanda @ gmail [dot] com with subject heading “DESIGNER PANDA”. Art works can be either digital art, traditional art [i.e. painting, pencil drawing, charcoal, etc], photo manipulation, photography [use a model, use yourself as a model], what have you.
Designers may submit more than one entry.
There will be no limit to the size of the banner or the artwork.
If the designer wishes to use traditional art, a photo of the drawing/painting will suffice and must be sent to the email mentioned above.
Designers must blog about the contest.
Designers must link the sponsors of this event and also to this post using the banner above.
Deadline of submission of entries is at NOVEMBER 29, 2009.
To avoid biases, i will have a panel of judges *personal friends* who are majoring in Information Design and help me in choosing the winner. Criteria of the awards will be based on cuteness, uniqueness, creativity, blogging participation.

I do plan out my posts because… my mind is just a scramble of ideas and I’d go ballistic and everything would seem all over the place (like it’s already not XD) if I just write free flowingly. Plus I don’t write personal stuffs so it’s harder not to plan out what I’m going to say. I save the things I want to share so there… resulting to a long blog post about imaginary friends.

Oh yeah! This is a post just about them

I saw this in Tumblr and I just can’t help but wonder if other people really did have imaginary friends. Nickle had some very interesting tales like how she thinks that someone used to poke her at night in her old room so she moved into a new one or how Lev talks to her imaginary friend for more than 6 years I think. I don’t think I ever had one because I just talked to my stuff toys and polly pocket and barbies (I wasn’t that much of a Barbie girl… but my favorite Barbie was Diver Barbie with the Killer Whale squeaky toy! :D). They were probably the closest thing I had to imaginary friends.

My brother and I made this imaginary land called “Wonderland” (how original) and we were the rulers of the stuff toys. I was the queen of Magic land and he was the King of Science Land and we had various adventures. Gosh I sound deranged. Do I? I also thought that I was neither introvert nor extrovert around 11 years old because I really thought I had 4 personalities, Tiff A, Tiff B, Tiff C and Tiff D. When I either become very insecure, it’s probably Tiff B talking. If i’m overly hyper, then it’s probably Tiff C. Up to now, I still sort of believe this… but not as much as when I was younger.

So there I’m weird. XD hahaa

Sorry about the sudden weirdness, I’ve started recently to watch The Big Bang Theory (Click for more info about it) and I just can’t help but laugh out loud at Sheldon’s weird antics and how nerdy everyone is! I can’t believe that I can relate to the series because a couple of them are Physicists and I just took up Physics so I knew what they were talking about! XD Man! It’s really hilarious and I recommend it to everyone! WATCH THE FRIENDSHIP ALGORITHM! *as a teaser, note this is a TV series hehe*

Mum also sends me weird e-mails and her latest one just reminded me of All Hallow’s Eve! Another thing to tickle your tummy!
