you’re right about philosophy being too broad because it basically is about life. you know, it affects everything. i’m studying in a Bible college and we’re studying and majoring in Theology, like about God and the Bible, but you just can’t do away with philosophy.. it’s always there, and it always has a say about everything.

about Kant, as a Christian, i don’t agree with him because i try to live by the Word of God. it’s where i should be drawing standards (e.g Ethical) from. if i made myself a basis for my standard or set of rules, it may become very harmful for me and other people around me. i mean, i’m just a human being, i’m imperfect and finite, always having the tendency to be selfish and prideful.. i might just set and follow a rule that’s right for me but actually is immoral and something that is wrong for another person. how could there be an order in the society if everyone just followed what they want to follow? life without absolutes is a total chaos, and just makes it more miserable.

anyway, i enjoy philosophy because it challenges me on how i can stand up for what i believe in, and to keep standing up for it- for my faith.

Philosophy hurts my head I watched the 3 minute video on Kant (Laughed for about a minute of it because of the way it’s pronounced) – it was very informative! I don’t know if I agree on there being just right and wrong and no grey areas, I’m gonna have to start reading more about philosophy to form more of an opinion, to be honest!

I never had to study Philosophy whilst I was in high school, neither in university now – sure, I’ve heard all these names like Aristotle and that but I tended to avoid it because it seems like a scary subject!

I just started reading some philosophy. I actually stumbled across it by accident via a book that I thought was a story book but was essentially a mini-guide on philosophy. It’s like I went through the whole (brief-version) of philosophy through this one book. It’s titled Sophie’s World. You should take a look if you can find it!

I read about Aristotle, Plato, Plotinus, and yeah even Aquinas. Haha, of course, I don’t remember much but it really did help me see things and not just accept them as they are, because that’s what philosopher’s do.. they keep asking, they don’t just accept.

I have had a couple of lucid dreams before, and it’s been rather strange, more so than freaky.

I find that a lot of magazines put the pointless stuff towards the front. I don’t really care about celebrity gossip. Knowing about who dated who never helped anyone. Though I have to admit I thought Seal and Heidi Klum were going to last. My mum always wondered what she saw in him. :P

Hmm.. mine’s kind of different. I think (that’s right “i think”. it’s weird) that i’ve dreamt about a waterfall where me and my sister would go inside it to a cave.. that scene keeps on coming back to me in dreams or even when i’m just awake thinking. For how many years in my life (until 4th year HS) i believed that it was real, that i actually know and have seen that place. But the weirdest part is even now, i’m having doubts if the place is real or not. lol..

Regarding the first part of your post. I haven’t been watching the news recently. But when i do, i usually complain about how they would report about useless things like Kim Chui and Xian Lim, Kris Aquino, Sarah Geronimo etc… even the most simple things that they do would end up on the news which i find really stupid. People do tend to focus on the things that are not really that important. Which sucks really.

Typically, when I wake up from a dream, I only remember bits and parts of it. Sometimes, I remember it better when I replay it in my head/think about it/or write it down (which is usually a good idea if you don’t already do it). I’ve never dreamt the same dream before, though. Every dream of mines are never the same; they’re always different because if they were the same, I would know.

I always love it when I can remember my dreams. I’m pretty jealous that you’ve remembered them every day for two weeks! I find I tend to dream more when I’ve been getting enough sleep–have you been sleeping more lately?
