Everything has a beginning and everything has an end. Whoever said that matter is neither created nor destroyed is BULL because there is the creation of the universe and unless everything was just like instant noodles, then we’d assume that the universe was here all along. There is then no concept of time or anything because a human being just can’t fathom such vast knowledge. Remember that scene in Indiana Jones (the latest one, the one that didn’t live up to its predecessors actually) when Cate Blanchett’s character was absorbing all the knowledge of the universe from *TOOOT* (no spoilers here! XD) and she couldn’t take it and was blown to smithereens? Well I imagine that that would happen to me if I know everything. I believe that God created all so matter did have a creation. sort of Haha And as for the end… will the universe end? Well go back to Indiana Jones story and you’ll know my answer. I think that if it is meant to be known, we’ll know then or probably after life.

Sorry for such an “emo” introduction but I can’t help thinking about the past, the present and the future now. It all connects to saying goodbyes. I hate saying goodbyes especially to the people I love. I really disagree with Elton John and I think that somtimes, Sorry isn’t the hardest word. Goodbye is. Sometimes you can’t even say it. You can’t even look at the person (okay maybe sometimes sorry is really hard to say coz you also get these symptoms) and you can’t help but look away or don’t even attend the departure of that person anymore. I’m not good at adapting, this is why I sucked when we changed sections in grade four. And it also sucked when I had to say goodbye to 2 of my best friends because they were changing schools. I thought that nothing would change even after that but… OF COURSE IT DID. I had even MORE trouble saying goodbye to my dogs (when they passed away) and then saying goodbye to my brother when he went to Portugal for his Junior Term Abroad a year ago and I did shed a tear

And now one of my closest blockmates is going to Korea for 9 months for this sponsored exchange program and I am genuinely happy for her because this is such a BIG opportunity and plus she’ll be going to her dream country and probably meet up with Korean boy bands and get a Korean boyfriend and I am so happy for her! This is a dream come true! But to see one of the closest person in the block, one of the nicest persons you’ve ever met just go away for 9 months, you suddenly imagine all sorts of things like what would happen to you when you get left behind. Things would definitely change.

And I think of my own sojourn to France this September – December. I’ll be pondering on how I’ll be taking this, and how my parents would be taking this too and how everything would change. There must be a beginning to everything but it means the ending of a phase. Of a stage. Of something important but it’s the beginning of an opportunity also!

Okay I feel a little better now

I just attended my first Kpop concert, F.T. Island’s, ever with Gie (she’s the one going to Korea!) and I was even HESITANT of going! Well one thing, I wasn’t a true fan (heck I didn’t even know the names of the members, their songs except for one, the theme song of You Are Beautiful <- AWESOME telenovela for my international friends who love these kinds of things. WATCH IT) but it was the first event that my aunt organized and I decided to support her(plus it was discounted)! And plus Gie really wanted to go so it'll be a bonding moment for us! It was also her first concert EVER. I was soo thankful that it was in an enclosed area. I swear, concerts in the Philippines SHOULD BE ENCLOSED. Even if open-grounds concerts are fun, IT'S JUST TOO BLASTED EFFING CRAPPING F$%^$^(&$&& HOT HUMID HOT HOT HOT!!!! Really, it's just the first week of March and EVERYTHING IS SCORCHING. I SWEAR IT'S CLIMATE CHANGE AND I'M GONNA MELT. I'LL MAKE MY REFRIGERATOR MY NEW HOME! Swear.... ARGH!!

Okay where was I? Oh yeah. CONCERT! IT WAS SOO MUCH FUN!! Because the singers talked to the audience (with the help of an interpreter host, haha XD IT WAS FUNNY!) and plus... I never realized that some of them LOOK GOOD IN PERSON. I actually didn't think of them cute in the posters but when you see them in person... you'd want to melt! And I liked 2 of the guys there, the one at the leftmost and at the rightmost. We were at the leftmost side but had a good view as we all shifted to the right too. XD And the thing was... I couldn't help but...ASSUME (but remember kiddos, assuming is BBAADDD) that Jaejin (leftmost dude) was looking at somebody at our side because... he KEPT LOOKING AT US!!! Swear, and I don't know, he'd even WAVE AT US. I don't know if I should assume that there was 1 second of eye contact between us.. HAHAHAA Okay I'm assuming too much but it would have been nice to say, "HEY I was able to make eye contact with a star, even for just 1 SECOND!" XD Haha am desperate much. Sorry guys! Didn't know the name of rightmost guy but he was the cutest!

Thank you for all those who advised me on which netbooks to get. I really appreciate it but for the meantime, my best friend and I have decided to delay our purchase because it’d be better to order later in the year and nearer to our departure date. Maybe finally then ASUS will release a grown up Disney laptop… I’m thinking of buying in the US because laptops there are cheaper! Hope that some of mum’s friends come home in July. But oh dear!! Only 5 and 1/2 months away until… I get my independence!! Well a little independence at least!

This is just a quick post. Suddenly I had this sudden urge to post…. about something… and that something is…

MAGIC.

Okay not the hocus pocus kind of magic. It’s this charm that some people have that will make turn you into jelly just because of their talents. Have you ever had the experience of stopping dead in your tracks, as in you’ve stopped eating, breathing, doing your assignments or whatever to just waste a few minutes just so you could listen or watch him/her? Well that happened to me twice this week and it’s all because of their TALENT.

It’s official, I simply love talent shows. Look what Britain’s Got Talent gave us, SUSAN BOYLE. I swear I cried after watching that audition. I mean just to see her unconsciously SLAP the audience’s faces by singing with all she had just… just brought tears to my eyes *thus the Cheesy title, my gosh…* And then you have American Idol (ALEX LAMBERT IS OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE GUY CONTESTANT from this batch I do like Lee Dewyze and Andrew Garcia Girl faves could be Siobhan and Katie but I still have to decide tomorrow at their show!) bringing in talents like Melinda Doolittle (possible the BEST vocalist EVER on the show. EVER. And then America had to boot her out, WHYY!!! I keep rewatching her audition whenever I feel like I’m losing hope in American Idol (like last week) and hope that someone would SHINE like her. Carrie Underwood is still my top IDOL but Kelly Clarkson + David Cook + Kris Allen come close!

When finally the Philippines caught on and has decided to put up a talent show “Pilipinas Got Talent”, I was really hesitant because… I did not watch our local shows. I wasn’t really brought up on them because I was fed with the news, National Geographic and HBO and of course Cartoon Network as a kid so… there. I didn’t grow old with our local shows. But mum liked to watch them though so when one day, she was tuning in to Pilipinas Got Talent, I STOPPED walking and looked at the screen. Is this really what I’m seeing? A pianist with NO HANDS (incomplete arms guys, INCOMPLETE ARMS) and a girl who HAD A GUY’S VOICE? (okay so Nick Pitera can sing like a girl but I haven’t seen a girl singer who had a deep guy voice except maybe for Cher or Annie Lennox) I was really intrigued because they actually… SOUNDED GOOD!! Really!

You guys have to watch this. There’s English subtitles for all!

And then someone shared a link in my facebook, again about somebody in Pilipinas Got Talent. I was already in a hurry and just needed to check my email this morning but I said…what the heck, I’ll just play it. And then my ears heard such a wonderful golden voice of a young Filipino! He had such an amazing voice packed in a small frame! MY GOSH. YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS DUDE TOO! Dad says that he is waay better than the girl singer I shared above so pls, WATCH GUYS. My dad was left speechless and I was late for class this morning. It was that good so PLS WATCH. Also with subtitles

I teared up at the end too but not as much as Susan Boyle’s. This is why Talent shows are so… wonderful because you really DO NOT KNOW what gem you’ll discover underneath all this auditioning. Only a few will really stand out and when they do, you’ll find them in such UNLIKELY PLACES. These shows inspire other people and these shows are opportunities for such people. These shows make them BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES. You guys may have a different opinion but this is mine. Pls let me know what you think in the comments. I really do like to hear if you agree or disagree with me.

These videos are also special because… these people are more special because of what they have gone through. A lot of Filipinos like Jovit are impoverished and have so much little… and to be given such an opportunity as this and finding that HE has talent, is so inspiring. I hope to see more of him. Now it really makes me want to watch Pilipinas Got Talent

I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH ALICE IN WONDERLAND TOMORROW! I know that it has been running in our theatres for about 4 days already but I still have yet to watch it! I’m soo excited already and this will also be the last bonding session with my blockmate who will be going to Korea for 9 months on Tuesday I can’t wait to see this movie because my heart Johnny D is going to be there (despite him dressing up... like a clown XD) and it's Tim Burton's project! I'm kinda biased but am kinda frightened that this movie only got a 50+ rating at Rottentomatoes. Hope it's not that bad!

But aging is natural and why must we stop it so? Isn’t this a testament or mark of an important point of one’s history? It’s like an evidence of your achievement. Isn’t that worth keeping? That one wrinkle could mean the long hours you’ve put to inventing the cure for cancer (example only!). Sometimes looking old actually makes you really look wiser.

But of course, some would use health products for their own health purposes. Have you heard of turkey neck? As you grow old, skin loses elasticity and therefore the skin under your neck just hands there like how a turkey’s does. By eating healthy, exercising and getting enough vitamins and sometimes with the help of beauty products such as a Neck Firming Cream, you’d be able to rid yourself of these problems.

Actually you can actually help alleviate aging effects by maintaining a balanced diet which means very few sweets and junkfood and exercise everyday. It doesn’t even have to be strenuous exercise. What you need is healthy living.

I still love tuning into the tube and watch the news or a movie or two in HBO. My primary channels though are Discoery, History and National Geographic channels. They too are informative and sometimes more reliable than the net because you know that these are experts talking. But the thing is, you can now catch your fave tv shows online like in Hulu right? But unlike me, I can’t go and get DIRECT TV Packages because I’m not in the US so there’s no alternative for me but to download or what. So if you’re in the US, just search for your state DIRECT TV and you’ll be able to see the DIRECTV Packages. Don’t let the tube be a relic yet for it still has uses!

And keeping a private journal is soo refreshing! After writing down 1000 words a day, it really makes you feel relaxed and everything. You are able to sort out your deepest thoughts and actually contemplate if you were right or wrong. And the topic for today is chivalry. Well not exactly that, it’s more on being selfless and being gentlemanly. Yes, this is directed to guys. Because of something that happened today… I have come to believe that gentlemen are becoming rarer and rare by the MINUTE. What they did was just OUTRAGEOUS. Simple OUTRAGEOUS! I want to whack them in the heads to force some sense into them. Really…

Do you guys know the song We Are The World? It was originally composed by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and produced by Quincy Jones for the benefit of Africa last Februaru 28, 1985 (holy cow, 25 years ago?? Imagine that!). I super love love the original because it was sung with such emotion and I loved the story behind how about 40++ famous artists recorded this over in just one night! It’s simply inspiring and awe-striking. Plus Bruce Springsteen was there, Kenny Rogers, Cyndi Lauper, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and all these wonderful artists were there! And now because of what happened to Haiti (God Bless their souls… let’s help them recover friends!), a remake with Haiti-influenced vocals were added. It’s a really nice remake but still not as better as the original and you can view it here

But what is more extraordinary than that is this YOUTUBE version of We Are The World sung by 57 famous Youtube singers and artists (Nick Pitera is there! But no Sam Tsui?? Awww) and it sounds AS GOOD as the remake. I swear, and to think most of these people are not professional singers so they are even more inspiring! I would have wanted to contribute to something like this, oh if I only knew how to sing well! How about you guys, would you join in something like this? Some of the singers have GREAT VOCAL CHOPS. Swear, they could even battle with the current batch of American Idol singers (I really DON’T LIKE THE CURRENT BATCH. Gosh, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE first two nights. The girls outdid the guys in my opinion though but still.. I see some potential greats BUT THEY’RE NOT SHOWING it yet, some are too shy. I do like that they are pretty diverse, especially the girls, they have interesting tones and voices) and win American Idol. Lisa Lavie (the one who posted this video) sings EXTREMELY WELL. Oh I better stop gushing and just post the vid XD

Hope you guys could hear these 2 versions, if you’re not at home now, rush back to your home and put on earphones (or even not) and listen to it. It’s worth the wait guys

And now guys, I need some help on selecting the most bad-ass netbook (okay kidding, actually am really on a tight budget) because I’m thinking of buying one for my junior term abroad this coming September to December! I don’t want to lug my 15 inch laptop around plus I need to update it into a Linux software because we need that for coding and all wherever I’m going. So I need your opninion guys, a 10 inch screen would do, 250gb hardrive hopefully, 1gb ram and of course a webcam is needed. After a few deliberations with friends, I’ve canceled out HP (my friends say it’s breaks easily) and Acer (i’ve had bad experience with Acer too). My choices now would be Dell, ASUS, or Toshiba (but am hesitant with Toshiba because they say it’s heavy). Can you guys help me?

I really wanted this Disney ASUS laptop but… xD it’s only for kids and there aren’t even specs listed on the site! LOLZZ

Now I don’t really like politics but I acknowledge its importance because… hello, this determines the fate of one country and we must be responsible for selecting our leaders (seeing that we are a democratic country, well our history professor contests our meaning of “democracy” now) so I attended the presidential forum of presidentiable Dick Gordon and vp-candidate Bayani Fernando yesterday and gained a lot of insights. Dick Gordon in my opinion has a very strong presence and he can handle the job. And I got something from Bayani yesterday, he was right in saying that he has never seen a president who was in the workforce before (Bayani was an engineer you see) and I hope to see someone like that someday too.

Well if you are going to ask me who are my options for president, I’ll really have to say Teodoro or Gordon. I hope that you can respect my decision and I respect yours too. You may defend your answer though and I’ll be adding this in the questions later on I’m leaning towards Gibo though but I really hope that Ateneo indeed conducts more forums (even if they’re not a debate, but a debate would be better, a GOOD DEBATE WITH PANELISTS THAT IS) and invite the other presidential candidates to our school. THE YOUTH NEEDS INSIGHTS.

It is healthy to let out all the negative energy and I found that out during my guidance interview. Would you believe that this is my first? I don’t count my high school ones because… they’re really useless. It’s cool to talk to a stranger about things and without him/her being biased about your problems right? But still I’m apprehensive, I don’t trust easily so no way will I spill my deepest secrets to somebody. So Anne Frank gave me an idea (am reading Diary of Anne Frank now, hope to finish it and cross off another book in my project 50 Leaves!) and I will be writing a “personal diary” now. I have written before but due to… constraints I stopped. It could be tangible and intangible but am sure that people will only be able to read it once I’m gone (a.k.a. not alive) Hope that it will help me with my problems

I noticed in the last comments that only a few of you watched the movies I mentioned, come on guys, YOU NEED TO WATCH IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE!! I SWEAR!! It probably won’t make you cry, but I GUARANTEE THAT YOU’LL LOVE IT. And thanks to youtube, you don’t have to download it (and it’s in TECHNICOLOR! I first watched this in Black and White but now there’s technicolor version for free, you lucky dogs. And I even bought a DVD of it teehee, I wanna watch the special features plus it was on sale) Here’s the 1st part of 14. Watch it if you guys have good internet connection or download it I’ll give you demonoid codes even so you guys can download it online

My spirits have been lifted because of the STRESS this week. Okay that didn’t sound right… but at least it took my mind on other things and concentrated on our History Class Project: Our Medieval Fair. Don’t think that’s like the medieval fairs in the US or Europe (nothing like that!) It’s a program by the girls in the class where we have to have a Medieval song, play and dance. How do we Asians know what to do? Well google and some racking of the brains! haha Merce (our singing head) took a medieval poem and compose a melody for it. I helped with the play and threw in some suggestions, in the end we took Macbeth but concentrated on Act 1 Scene 5. Dance was choreographed by Rana and she took inspiration from cotillion. We also had to find a way to collate and integrate everything so we had to interpret and add these little things. All in all, IT WENT WELL!!! I do wish we had something like the ones in the US though, like real costumes (we only took our prom long gowns and debut gowns XD but the others rented. Am saving money so no rent for me )though. Next time then!

And of course, the culmination and the 25% of our grade… THE BATTLE AT BELLARMINE FIELD!! Haha It was the most awaited event for Western history students and it was my first time watch AND PARTICIPATE!! haha The guys will do their demonstration and performance of battle forms and then there will be a BATTLE USING BALLOON CLAPPERS!! haha XD We French and English armies had to battle it out with the HUGE MACEDONIAN army. Point of the game was to remove the cups stuck from the chest of the person using the clapper and guess what?

WE WON!! hahaa!!!! SOO COOL!! Even if we girls lost in our battle, the guys managed to pull it through and TAKE VICTORY!!! The other army was even unfair because they STUCK PACKAGING TAPE to their cups to the point that they even TAPED THE WHOLE CUP while we only stuck 4 pcs of Masking tape. DESERVING WIN!! WHOOT!! hahaa

When I started blogging, I knew that it would be my creative outlet, my information outlet of some sorts and not one drop of my personal wailing well would drip into my blog. I’ve broken this a few times but it would always be vague and ambiguous. Even in real life I don’t want to discuss my problems. I just retreat off into my own corner and just think and discern. Somehow it has always been that way *therefore talking to self is very normal for me. VERY.* Maybe I’d let it drip….ambiguously today XD

Hope you all had a fun Valentines and Chinese New Year! I’d been feeling down for the past week and then add to that what happened on Sunday. I swear I’ve got some family issues and now I understand how you can never fully judge a person. Hypothetically speaking, a kid is deprived of attention and gets beaten up by his dad constantly and physically abuses him. Kid grows up, gets a family but what does he do to his kid? He’ll probably still act childish and wouldn’t be a normal dad to his children thus making his children go “WHAT THE F– is wrong with my dad?” Why is my aunt so whacked out and keeps nagging at me? Somehow her past must have affected her too. The external factors and familial factors cannot be disregarded when observing a person’s whole attitude and outlook.

I learned this the hard way. I thought it was only my paternal side that’s whacked out, but what, even my maternal side of the family? I thought that they were my only hope of saying, hey my family’s kinda normal too. BUT NO. When I found out about… some things… I almost had a migraine and my heart probably turned darker. I don’t know. I felt so down… in Filipino, ang bigat talaga ng loob ko. I’m still feeling the after effects and I instead of staying for our Chinese org’s celebration on Monday, I needed to go home and think. I was feeling depressed and I still feel that way. But I know that I have to concentrate on living. Yes… I need to live. Sorry if I’ve been a pain in twitter and plurk lately

Coincidentally, I have made a draft of my new entry (this one) last week around Friday and guess what the topic is?

I’m going to share the Movies That Made Me Cry XD How… coincidental and good my timing was XD But take note, I don’t cry easily, I didn’t even cry last Sunday or the past few days. It takes extreemee cases to make me cry so having a movie make me cry is something for me. This is inspired by The Movie Blog when the editor posted his own.

Up
- I’d been hearing very good things about this movie last year and when I heard that Up was moved to August instead of the MAY 2009 SHOWING (same time as the US), I was enraged because I didn’t want to pirate this movie. It would be a disgrace to the awesome PIXAR team for wasting their hardwork and I really want to boost their sales and be a good customer. So I waited patiently and didn’t download despite my “pirating” reputation. And it was definitely worth the wait. I still wasn’t convinced that it would drag me emotionally but drag me it especially in the scene where only music played as we watched the beginning and ‘end’ of Carl and Ellie’s life. That scene tore my heart out. Plus the scene near the end where Carl was pinning the Ellie badge on Russel… I remembered how my parents were late and absent on my own scouting graduation… and my friend’s mum had to pin me instead. So there….

It’s a Wonderful Life
- This was probably my first 30s movie (or was that Gone With the Wind? XD) and again I’ve been seeing references in movies and books how people in America upheld the tradition of watching It’s A Wonderful Life every Christmas Eve (am not sure if this applies to all Americans, I think they don’t do this anymore?) and I being a curious being wanted to see what the hulabaloo was about. Again it was the life story of George Bailey that had me bawling. His dreams and hopes were shattered when responsibility took over and he had to sacrifice everything. But he did have something good, which is love (really cheesy but come on, he had a perfect wife with Mary!) and in the end, he realizes that he was indeed the richest man in town. After watching the movie, you’d think, would I ever become a George Bailey? Would I too affect that many lives and be someone in my community? It makes me feel sad that I don’t think I’ll ever get the same recognition as he did…

Return of the King
- I think I also cried in Fellowship but I’m not sure… so I’ll just put return here. Everything must come to and end someday and we’d be parting ways with our friends and loved ones and family. This is what I felt at the end of the movie was Frodo separates with his friends and goes off to the unknown. Now you’d really know that the trilogy is over. This AMAZING EPIC was actually coming to and end. The last part made me want to learn more and to know more about everything about Lord of the Rings.
But it will never come back… it’s finally the end.

Life is Beautiful
- Seeing a father’s love for his child and goes to the lengths of making jokes and having fun for his son INSIDE A NAZI CAMP is just… amazing. People probably just rotted and accepted their fate but this dad… he knew that he wanted his son to live. The ending did it for me. What love really!

Princess & The Frog
- I cried over the fact that Disney returned to 2D. That this could be probably up with the greats such as Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, etc. It wasn’t but it had a charm of its own! I cried at the part that fairy tales do seem to come true in their world. But now I know guys, happily ever after doesn’t come after marriage. It’s a WHOLE PROCESS that you need to maintain THROUGHOUT YOUR WHOLE LIFE. Don’t think that snagging a man would mean it’s over, everything is okay. HELL NO. I cried because the story was beautiful and how beautiful the song Evangeline was and to see that they finally KNEW what the NEEDED.

Toy Story 2
- Sarah Mclahlan’s song When She Loved Me made me burst into tears. Plus the scene of Jessie being abandoned…. the feeling of someone close to you… abandoning you and just forgetting EVERYTHING that you two did together. That’s heartbreaking.

When Harry Met Sally
- The two main leads were SOOOOO blind to each other and I cried over the YEARS they spent finding it out. But it was worth it still in the end. It was just soo loong though! But you can never tell in real life… it is that hard…

Fox and the Hound
- The ending did it. You have to watch this!

I can’t think of anything else now. I can’t remember a rom-com movie that made me cry. And why this is mostly Disney’s work of making cry… I don’t know why. There are probably be more and maybe I’ll add more to this list next time.

I hope that you’re doing better than me guys. Keep your chin up! And look forward to TOY STORY 3!! Here’s the OFFICIAL FULL trailer guys. And Ken meets Barbie XD Finally XD LOLZ I’m sure that there’ll be more twists and turns though! I can’t wait for JUNE!!

How about you guys, are you celebrating Valentines’ Day? I have never celebrated it so it’s like a normal day for me. Good thing Chinese New Year is on Sunday too! Gonna eat out with mom’s side! Uncle from Shanghai is going back and he’s bringing his family! I MISS THEM!!

Speaking of relatives, I am so sad to hear that my favorite cousins from before (we became detached because of parents and shiz, so there haven’t spoken to them for like 5-7 years or something) are now migrating to Canada. And that my other set of cousins *young ones* ARE GOING TO CANADA TO THIS YEAR. Hell, only 1 other set of cousins besides us are staying in the Philippines. We’re going to be soo few now… This reminds me of how scary the future is, I’ve always been sort of afraid of the future, I mean what happens after college? Work? Where? When? ARGH. I’m going to miss all the lost time that would have been spent bonding with my cousins… I mean we did hit it off again even after a large year diff, even teasing my 2 month younger-than-me cousin that he looks like a Korean XD hahaa. Good thing there’s facebook, I really regret not keeping in touch. Sighs

I don’t want to really share family photos online so I “hid” it here. Do you think we look alike? 2 cousins at the left are the younger ones who will go to Canada later this year. The three at the right are going to Canada in… 7 days and the guys are my favorite cousins. Big dude in red is bro XD.

So there… I’m feeling sad and I feel so weird right now… I have this sudden bouts of “sadness” (i don’t want to call it depression) and it’s happening now. Good thing my best friend is helping me by making me laugh XD Oh and to not burden you guys much, I SUGGEST YOU WATCH PRINCESS AND THE FROG. I swear, after watching a couple of minutes, I couldn’t help but be like the Top Movie Critic, Roger Ebert, and exclaim

“No 3-D! No glasses! No extra ticket charge! No frantic frenzies of meaningless action! And . . . good gravy! A story! Characters! A plot! It’s set in a particular time and place! And it uses (calm me down here) lovingly hand-drawn animation that proceeds at a human pace, instead of racing with odd smoothness. I’m just gonna stand here and let it pour over me.”

Oh classic Disney with hand drawn animation, HOW I MISSED YOU. I teared up guys. I rarely do that but I teared up at the end of this movie. Was it the Disney magic? Or just plain relief of seeing hand-colored images brought painstakingly and lovingly to life by these artists? Or was it the richness of the personality of the characters? The songs in my opinion won’t be classics like Under the Sea or Beauty and the Beast or A Whole New World, but you’ll groove to the music. I have the last song syndrome with some though, and it has such a beautiful love/dedication song too. Watch and you’ll see.

Another hilarious thing happened last week, my mom and dad were at a dog show in Cavite and my dad playfully put Chico in front of the DRIVER’S SEAT with the engine running. Little did he know that Chico would put his paws and place them heavily on the LOCK SO BAM!! They were locked out of the car! XD Good thing mum had friends who helped them “break” into our own car. Too bad I wasn’t there!! XD

Oh I need your help guys! THIS IS IT! Four days from now, I would have finally chosen my TOP 3 DESTINATIONS for JUNIOR TERM ABROAD!! This is finally happening! Ever since I have been hearing about JTA in high school, I’ve been so ecstatic and anxious and now when it’s finally here, I AM SO FRIGGING NERVOUS AND SO UNDECIDED. I have already picked my 3 destinations, Japan(Osaka University), US(University of San Francisco or U of Pacific) or France (Lille Catholic University). Now all I need is to arrange them in order. I really like all three because of the many wonderful experiences in store. I still have to discern a lot this weekend and choose for Monday is the deadline. I want to take up subjects other than Computer Science so that i don’t know… have more experience in other fields. If you were in my place, how would you rank them?

Thanks to all those who read and liked my super long post! I was browsing through my old posts last week and I realized… I used to write even longer than that! XD And my blogger blog had longer entries. Don’t worry, hope you guys noticed how I’ve been trying to shorten my entries now for the convenience of both of us.

This song automatically played in my mind when the Oscar nominations came out last February 3, 2010 and as tradition, I have to blog about it. I already posted the list here in Tidbits Movie Blog but I really can’t help but blog about it here too! I’m really into movies and I really hope to at least work at least once in my life related to movies or something This is why my dream too of going to Pixar is like hitting 2 birds with one stone… wait that’s cruel… hitting 2 targets with one stone. So wait where was I, oh yeah! This song played in my head because for the second time in FOREVER since the first Best Picture Oscar was given that an ANIMATED MOVIE WAS NOMINATED FOR A BEST PICTURE.

Guess what animated movie?

Yeah you guess it right, it’s UP!

Did you know that besides Up, only Beauty and The Beast was able to battle with the big boys back in 1991? What do you guys think? Because Beauty and the Beast didn’t win that year, the Academy then thought that animated films were actually doing a fantastic job so they made a different category called Best Animated Film. But guys, what do you think Best Picture means? Isn’t it suppose to be the film that did REALLY WELL regardless of medium used to make the film? What do you think? I personally believe that Up deserves to be at the top *though it won’t win, but it CAN* because it was one of the best films of 2009 and I think Pixar went ABOVE their standards again. So I want to hear your thoughts on the animated film controversy. Read this blog to find out more about it (did you know that for 8 years, animated films were the TOP critically acclaimed movies for their year?)

I do think that this year’s Oscar is going to be GREAT. I’ve been so blaahh-ed about the past few years because of various reasons such as the Oscar host wasn’t good, I didn’t like the Best Picture win or the nominees at all. This year has some very interesting battles especially the duel between the ex-couple, James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow. It is so funny to see these two neck in neck with 9 nominations each. I mean what would reaction be if you’re up against your husband or wife at some award? What should you feel? I think James Cameron would gladly give the award to his wife because his previous monster hit Titanic did win Best Pic already and now his current movie just HIT A BIGGER ICEBERG and broke all movie records. He’s a Box Office director no doubt! I am so excited to see how this turns out but I think Kathryn will get her awards I have yet to see Hurt Locker though, will watch it soon!

And then we have Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin as hosts! A TEAM UP! This is going to be so awesome because I believe these two have great chemistry. I have yet to see somebody top my favorite Oscar host, Billy Crystal!

And of course, 10 NOMINATIONS FOR BEST PIC. How the heck will they present them all? What would the hosts’ intro be? AND DISTRICT 9 WAS ACTUALLY NOMINATED!! I FRIGGING LOVED THAT MOVIE AND I’M SO HAPPY IT’S THERE.

Sorry for the all caps, I just love Oscar season even if some don’t *and I’m sorry if I’m boring you all* but I can’t feel anything but happiness. This actually cheered me up last Tuesday because I felt so down. Sniff. I feel like a kid in a candy store

So here are the four major categories of the Academy Awards. No bets yet until I watch them all! I have a month (March 3 – Oscar day) to watch them and a month to decide. I’m hoping Carey Mulligan for Best Actress! Did you know she played Kitty in Pride and Prejudice alongside Keira Knightly? I DIDN’T BAT AN EYE AT HER THEN BECAUSE SHE HAD SO FEW DIALOGUE. But when you watch An Education, WHOA she has grown so much!
