Showing Asian Characters On Posts

If you’re Asian and either know how to write in Chinese or Japanese or Korean or some other language, then you’d be wanting to post sometime in your mother tongue or borrowed tongue. I tried to input Chinese characters with my foreign program transcriber and it did showed while I was writing in my posts but unfortunately, when the post was published, the characters vanished and were replaced by boxes or some other symbols. It was very queer…

But I have found the solution somewhere in the WordPress forums! It was really simple :P

First Step

1. Access your site with FTP and find wp-config.php. Edit with dreamweaver or whatever program you use.

2. Find these

/** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8′);

/** The Database Collate type. Don’t change this if in doubt. */
define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”);

3. ERASE THEM! Only these two lines please. ERASE THEM!

4. Try writing the characters now and you’ll see 這些：P
