I’ve moved my updates page to the bottom of each post so that you guys wouldn’t be bored of seeing the same thing! haha well not it’s at the bottom of the post so you’ll still get to read the announcements later on. Prepare for a BIIGG surprise in the coming week. hope that it will encourage more people to join my contest. You’ll see why. Don’t forget to read AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT later on.

I meant to write this post yesterday but due to a very unfortunate event (how about like BONE-IN-FOOT-ALMOST-BREAKING-SCENARIO), I wasn’t able to because of the pain and incoherent thoughts in my head. After the 2 hour commute (on foot, bus, LRT) from my school to Galleria, my feet were already very tired Then while I was going down the last 2 steps at the stairs at home, I suddenly looked to the yellow rubber shows on the last step and wondered, “Hey is that my shoe—” then I lost control of my right foot and FELL GRACELESSLY ON MY RIGHT FOOT. Good thing it’s not a sprain and my foot just ballooned up to the size of a ball. But I wasn’t able to play basketball today! I guess I won’t be playing until next next week. I’m better now but still in pain I couldn’t stand up right after this incident. T_T So guys BE CAREFUL OKAY?

THE SCIENTIFIC NAME OF EARTHWORMS! Haha I must be crazy why I would put earthworms in my post because they’re so disgusting. They are such slimy old things right? I bet you probably wouldn’t even read this post if it were about “Eloquent Earthworms”. Well I just attended an awesome and fun seminar last night (for bonus points really but I became so inspired!) about vericomposting!

Worm composting or vermicomposting is a safe, fun, educational, and earth friendly hobby that you can feel good about. Plus, the benefits are very rewarding.

Earthworms, specifically composting worms, through their natural digestive process, turn organic waste into worm castings. These worm castings, combined with partially processed organic matter, form vermicompost. Vermicompost is nature’s organic fertilizer.

The two speakers were both Filipinos who had NO experience in science before they built the Earthworm Sanctuary. But 5 years ago, they ventured into this business and they have profited and helped the environment at the same time! Global warming and the problem of garbage are what really inspired Sir de Castro to buy the first kilo of worms! These little “angels of the earth” are so good (they consume SEPTIC WASTE for pete’s sake) can really help us with our garbage problem. I mean in Metro Manila alone, we produce 7 TONS OF FRIGGING GARBAGE A DAY! I am extremely bothered by this and from the pictures and statistics I saw, the ORGANIC (NO PESTICIDES, CHEMICALS OR ANYTHING!) vegetables and ornamental flowers they grew were all greener, bigger and more nutritious! I mean there you have fresh fruits and vegetables right at home FOR FREE! You just have to utilize the worms and MAKE THE SOIL ALIVE. That’s the most important thing they do. They produce the vermicompost which is really rich in microbes and minerals!

Now I am really inspired and I can’t wait to buy my own kit! We have a plot here in front of our house that was previously filled with indian trees but had to be cut down because of personal reasons. Now I want to bring that plot back to life. I mean when Mrs. de Castro talked about the joy of seeing your vegetables and plants all so grown and ready to eat, the feeling is irreplaceable! I wish I could feel that too… Must go to La Mesa Ecopark and will segregate my trash soon I get one so I’d be able to use all the biodegradable materials here at home

I’ve recently received some yummy and kawaii goodies! Jean dear accepted my request of two wallpapers and she made them all in just one day! You’ve really got a good talent there! *hugz* Thanks so much! And I finally received the candy exchange from Angelica. Boooyy I can’t wait to eat them! I don’t think I’ve ever told this on my blog before… but I write poems I love sonnets really, reading and writing them but I don’t write them much. I just love how complicated and beautiful they are! And I do love rhyming poems. I have never written stories before. Too scared to write them… haha. Well I’ve opened a new section in the About Me page called Musings and Writings. Just a few though. I’ll share my latest one here. All my personas in my poems are different by the way

When I was little my mom used to have our own garden, we grew a fair bit of vegetables and whatnot, her family is all farmers so its in her blood I guess. And I remember the smell of our compost heap. It was gross. But it does pay off! So talking from experience, I say go for it! Haha, that was random about the earth worms. I think it’s neat you’ve taken an interest in them, though. When I was a kid, I REALLY wanted an ant farm (I dunno why), so my mom told me if I read EVERYTHING I could about ants, she’d get me an ant farm. I made it my mission to do just that, but I never diiiid get an ant farm. However, the moral of this story is I won $100.00 on a random bonus question about what insect stretches, and it’s an ant. My opponent chose an earth worm !

I liked your poetry! I think sonnets are awesome and challenging. My favorite one was “Weeping” ’cause I’m a sucker for allegories.

- initially, they’re too gross! But then, as i also heard from some research that earthworms def. useful in terms of uplifting the our agriculture matters coz one big factor is that their poo-poo serve as a fertilizer. i like them but don’t wanna touch them coz their texture reminds me of snakes w/c i have a phobia~~~!!!

-nice one sis!! the poem is so cool believe me! we both share the same interests… i also made some poems back in H.S. & some in College. Love sonnets!
