Thank you for all those who advised me on which netbooks to get. 
I really appreciate it but for the meantime, my best friend and I have decided to delay our purchase because it’d be better to order later in the year and nearer to our departure date. Maybe finally then ASUS will release a grown up Disney laptop… I’m thinking of buying in the US because laptops there are cheaper! Hope that some of mum’s friends come home in July. But oh dear!! Only 5 and 1/2 months away until… I get my independence!! Well a little independence at least!
This is just a quick post. Suddenly I had this sudden urge to post…. about something… and that something is…
MAGIC.
Okay not the hocus pocus kind of magic. It’s this charm that some people have that will make turn you into jelly just because of their talents. Have you ever had the experience of stopping dead in your tracks, as in you’ve stopped eating, breathing, doing your assignments or whatever to just waste a few minutes just so you could listen or watch him/her? Well that happened to me twice this week and it’s all because of their TALENT.
It’s official, I simply love talent shows. Look what Britain’s Got Talent gave us, SUSAN BOYLE. I swear I cried after watching that audition. I mean just to see her unconsciously SLAP the audience’s faces by singing with all she had just… just brought tears to my eyes *thus the Cheesy title, my gosh…* And then you have American Idol (ALEX LAMBERT IS OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE GUY CONTESTANT from this batch I do like Lee Dewyze and Andrew Garcia Girl faves could be Siobhan and Katie but I still have to decide tomorrow at their show!) bringing in talents like Melinda Doolittle (possible the BEST vocalist EVER on the show. EVER. And then America had to boot her out, WHYY!!! I keep rewatching her audition whenever I feel like I’m losing hope in American Idol (like last week) and hope that someone would SHINE like her. Carrie Underwood is still my top IDOL but Kelly Clarkson + David Cook + Kris Allen come close!
When finally the Philippines caught on and has decided to put up a talent show “Pilipinas Got Talent”, I was really hesitant because… I did not watch our local shows. I wasn’t really brought up on them because I was fed with the news, National Geographic and HBO and of course Cartoon Network as a kid so… there. I didn’t grow old with our local shows. But mum liked to watch them though so when one day, she was tuning in to Pilipinas Got Talent, I STOPPED walking and looked at the screen. Is this really what I’m seeing? A pianist with NO HANDS (incomplete arms guys, INCOMPLETE ARMS) and a girl who HAD A GUY’S VOICE? (okay so Nick Pitera can sing like a girl but I haven’t seen a girl singer who had a deep guy voice except maybe for Cher or Annie Lennox) I was really intrigued because they actually… SOUNDED GOOD!! Really!
You guys have to watch this. There’s English subtitles for all!
And then someone shared a link in my facebook, again about somebody in Pilipinas Got Talent. I was already in a hurry and just needed to check my email this morning but I said…what the heck, I’ll just play it. And then my ears heard such a wonderful golden voice of a young Filipino! He had such an amazing voice packed in a small frame! MY GOSH. YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS DUDE TOO! Dad says that he is waay better than the girl singer I shared above so pls, WATCH GUYS. My dad was left speechless and I was late for class this morning. It was that good so PLS WATCH. Also with subtitles
I teared up at the end too but not as much as Susan Boyle’s. This is why Talent shows are so… wonderful because you really DO NOT KNOW what gem you’ll discover underneath all this auditioning. Only a few will really stand out and when they do, you’ll find them in such UNLIKELY PLACES. These shows inspire other people and these shows are opportunities for such people. These shows make them BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES. You guys may have a different opinion but this is mine. Pls let me know what you think in the comments. I really do like to hear if you agree or disagree with me.
These videos are also special because… these people are more special because of what they have gone through. A lot of Filipinos like Jovit are impoverished and have so much little… and to be given such an opportunity as this and finding that HE has talent, is so inspiring. I hope to see more of him. Now it really makes me want to watch Pilipinas Got Talent

I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH ALICE IN WONDERLAND TOMORROW! I know that it has been running in our theatres for about 4 days already but I still have yet to watch it! I’m soo excited already and this will also be the last bonding session with my blockmate who will be going to Korea for 9 months on Tuesday 
I can’t wait to see this movie because my heart 
Johnny D is going to be there (despite him dressing up... like a clown XD) and it's Tim Burton's project! I'm kinda biased but am kinda frightened that this movie only got a 50+ rating at Rottentomatoes. Hope it's not that bad!

OMG. They’re really awesome. I was really surprised and INSPIRED by the pianist. He lacks an arm but he is filled with courage and hope.
And yeah, the girl with a guy voice. Remember on twitter, I tweeted about her thinking he was a guy and you were like, “she’s a girl” and I was like, “REALLY???!”. Her voice is so relaxing and beautiful. 
The Jovit guy is amazing, too! I only got to watch it here, though. Didnt watch him audition. But he’s totally awesome as well.
Funny how these kinds of talents come from people whom we never expected have it.

-Talent Shows become talent shows when people realize the story behind a certain talent.
no story = no talent
the story is what gives the talent heart. and I think every performer should find their own heart.

-I was hesitant at first to watch PGT because of the high calibered talents of AGT but after a few episodes I could definitely say Filipinos really are jack of all trades.

no singing for me! though I love to sing. and write songs I have other people sing it for me. haha.

I think that talent shows reveal the creative side of a person. By merely auditioning on a talent show, they get to bring out the best in them. It’s a sort of self-discovery while there at it. It’s like we see a different side of a person. Talent shows are great, although I am not a fan of American Idol.
The young talents from our country performed well. It’s like, “gosh, can’t believe that someone without arms can actually play the piano well!” I say, the girl with a man’s voice is kind of odd. Never heard of someone who has a man’s voice. She must be unique.

I haven’t watched Pilipinas Got Talent (and I’m afraid I will not ever try watching it). However, I understand that these shows are touching lives. BUT! I feel like should we at least consider that it’s time not to overdo it? There’s Showtime, Talentadong Pinoy and now Pilipinas Got Talent.
It’s kind of repetitive and boring. I’m done with Wowowee.
BTW, I’m not here to create offensive comments. I just hope they would come up with original and fresh ideas. Not just adapting shows from UK and US or getting telenovelas from KR and TW or even JP.

same here, i also cried when i watched for the first time the audition of susan boyle but even more buckets of tears came from my eyes when i’ve watched jovit baldovino’s rendition of faithfully.. grabe sa talent!! nung napanood ko sa tv grabe kinilabutan ako all over.. as in tapos super mega iyak din ako tulad ni ai ai nung nagkukwento na sya na nagtitinda pa sya ng siomai after school to helped out his family.. sabi ko tuloy, abs-cbn has strucked gold once again.. aba amateur palang yung batang yun ganun na, pano pa kaya di ba kung magformal training yung batang yun eh di andaming taob na singers.. super galing talaga!!

I love the people who have overcome something to do something amazing like play the piano without a complete hand. Wow, that’s just so inspiring. I remember coming across Tony Melendez, who plays guitar with his feet. Feet. Blew my mind. So yeah, when someone has a really amazing talent, I get that same feeling of complete awe.

My mom and my sibs love to watch talent shows. :3 In fact, they also watch Pilipinas Got Talent!
I was able to watch Jovit sing. OMG! He’s amazing. Such an inspiration. 
A tear formed in the corner of my eye when I heard his story. Amazing guy. 
We just have to believe in ourselves. If we know that we have it, we must not be afraid to share it to everyone!

I’m not really amazed by Susan Boyle – maybe because they’re making such a big deal about her. But all these talent shows are really amazing. I know sometimes they are overrated but you can often see some people with REAL talent.
I think that’s absolutely gorgeous, that first act you showed. The voice of the singer is beautiful! And I got pretty teared up seeing the pianist, especially since he had a disability and didn’t have a full hand. :’)

I always thought they were lame, rigged and just a set up. I never really liked them, but I did participate in a few at school. I don’t really like mixed talent shows. I mean, someone who is a good singer doesn’t quite compare to someone who is a professional ballet dancer, if you know what I mean. I don’t think it would all be mixed like that.

I like watching TV shows too. Aaaah In American Idol, I already lose hope because Joe Munoz got eliminated. He’s such a hottie and got great voice. Sana talaga si Tim urban na lang natanggal. *peace fans*. Napanuod ko rin yang guy na yan sa tv sabi ng grandpa ko pang international daw yung boses parang si arnel pineda. Cool nga eh.

It’s as if talent shows have been popping out EVERYWHERE, no? Especially here in our country. I’m sure we’ve been inspired by the shows they’ve been airing in other countries. I don’t watch Pilipinas Got Talent but it seems like an interesting show. I have some friends who watch it on a regular basis.

Talent shows are fun to watch and they can be somewhat inspiring at the same time.

My jaw dropped. Can’t believed that they’re disabled people and still they don’t allow their disabilities to hinder them from doing that they love doing.

i rarely watch tv shows right now since i don’t have TV in my boarding house, which, i know, is super sad. but at least no further distractions aside from the Internet… i only watch shows through online streaming and it’s not so appealing. But there was one time that i decided to watch, just for time-killing.. and, boy, was i amazed. that was the episode where that group (on your first video) and jovit performed. I was really struck by the talent.. they are so promising. i really hope there will be more opportunities for them in the near future.. those talents are such a shame to be put to waste.
